I did the house in the picture today and was able to get all the high windows with my water fed pole (extended the full 30’ reach) but for the 2 that are set back from the roof in the middle.
I didn’t want to waste time trying to figure out how to add an arrow to the picture, but you can see that its the windows that are set back from the roof below it. If I was right under the windows without that overhang, like I was for the others that are on the same level as these two, I could just reach the top of the frame extended all 30’. As you can see from the pitch of the roof below the windows, it wouldn’t be easy to do them from the roof, and I’m not capable of that even if someone else might be. Is the only solution to have a longer WFP? I have the Unger n-Lite starter kit with the 10’ extension, which is what gives me the 30’. I don’t think I can add any length to it, and can’t afford to upgrade to a different WFP right now.
I told the client that I wasn’t able to get these 2 unless they can be accessed from inside, in which case I said I would come back. Otherwise, I knocked off $30 from her invoice for the 2 hard to access windows that I had bid $15 per in her estimate (outside only).
I am thinking an extension ladder against the outer flat section of the house, to the right of difficult windows. Go up it until you have a good angle with your WFP.

You could hop up on a 24’ ladder and clean them by hand…
Would add 10 minutes tops to the job, including set up, climbing the ladder, cleaning the glass, climbing down the ladder, putting the ladder back on the truck

Ya can do them from the inside even if they don’t fold in. If they fold in even better . If you have no access to the house set up a ladder with a standoff an do it from there
We had the same problem here . We just set up the ladder, an wfp them right from the ladder . A shorter wfp was the key though.

… 1. Ladder up and pole them. 2. Ladder up and wfp them. 3. Do from inside. (my choice) Most windows like that will either fold in
or the bottom part will come out and you can clean in the house and you can sit on the sill to do the tops outside.
Great suggestions and I appreciate everyone’s responses. I’m going back on Monday and will find out with the owner home whether it can be done from the inside. If that’s not an option, then I like the idea of the ladder and short pole.

my first choice would be to access from the inside, if the bottom sash dont fold in then just hop out the window on to the roof and do both by hand. just dont lock yourself out when you shut the bottom sash.
second choice is place ladder to the left of that bottom roof and step onto the roof and do by hand.
Those are extremely easy windows to access from a ladder. Do you only do WFP work? I’m not sure why you are making a trip back for them, maybe it’s just me but that looks all too easy to get to

I think there might be an osha issue with using a pole on a ladder. But I’m not sure on that. I’m with the ladder and do by hand crowd. Or from the inside.
Regardless… It’s an easily accessible window that for some reason everyone is offering up crazy ways instead of just hopping on a ladder and getting it done and over with
But hey what do I know anyway

The spider monkey would be the best option, you won’t have to pay him since he’s an animal. So BOOM! You’re makin more money per hour which is every window cleaners dream!

I’m waiting on my new hire now, he just applied last week. His resume was impressive, a couple circus gigs and his last job was with a clown doing birthday parties (so I know he’s a good residential guy) I’ll get back to you if this spider monkey is any good, I had to make it clear there is no monkeying around when we’re on the job though.
