I always ask them to remove anything attached to the window, hanging in front of the window or sitting on the sill. The only time I’ve had a window pane crack was from attempting to remove a decorative stained glass window that was hanging in front of the window to be cleaned. The corner of the stained glass window barely tapped a pane and cracked it. I had to come back the next day and replace it. Now I don’t remove any decorative or breakable items near the window.
I ask that anything in or near the window be moved. I will deal with the curtains and blinds. I ask for a clear path to the windows, but will help with LIGHT furniture moving. I’m not moving your davenport, and I’m not moving china hutches.
