How do you bill storefronts?

I’m planning to go out and get some store front accounts around where I live. Now, I’m wondering about how do you get paid. Do you go into each store after cleaning and they pay you in cash or by check? Do you write a receipt right there, or send it through the computer? Do you use an app like Venmo? Seems like it may take as much time to collect your pay as the time it may take to clean the windows. Or do you send them an online invoice? Sorry, may seem like stupid questions to those who know what they’re doing, but I haven’t done any store fronts, only residential and don’t want to go out there and look unprofessional.

I found this thread after posting my question. A lot of good advice. Answered my question

Jobber works great for that. you can save their card info too so you don’t have to go in there to have them sign or anything. incorporate this feature into your unique selling position, that you have no fuss automatic payments. You can also use jobber to make the quote and print it off so when you walk into the storefront you have a printed out quote which looks more professional anyways but is also cheaper than buying those quote books with your company info on them

charge the card on file after completing the service and email them the receipt

Thanks HeightsWindows, that sounds like an easy, efficient way to go about it. I’ll google to find out how to do it. Apparently I’m not the most educated on these things. Doing residentials I’m usually paid in cash or by check

Yeah it’s pretty easy to use. I’m about to launch my business and I’m analyzing my market and getting quotes together. I’ve done 195 in 5 days. I’m gonna walk into the storefront with the printed out quote and my business card attached to the quote with a sticker that has my company logo and phone number on it and then of course a trifold brochure. I’m hoping to be able to scale it to a couple thousand a week within 6 months

Some customers might ask to pay cash or check. When you get there walk in and hand them an envelope with an invoice and have them put the cash in there when you’re cleaning and then when you’re done you just go grab the envelope and make sure they took the invoice out of it

You’ve got a great plan put together. I appreciate you sharing some of your strategies.

I got most of it from Jersey’s podcast and the free resources at WCR like the marketing blueprint.

I’ll check it out.

Yes on homes collect right after.Either cash or check or on credit card. For stores collect cash or check. Usually I send and invoice by email and they can pay online. Best is to have card on file and charge them immediatley. You can Use Jobber or Housecallpro or even bill thru QB’s. When I go in stores or gas station or restuarants I have to pay right after , so shouldnt be a problem for them.

Thank you Stevepro1. I appreciate it. It’s good to have several options. Sending an invoice by email, would be a good option, in order to move on to the next job, if the business is busy serving customers.
