I like to leave them up about a quarter of the way.
Usually we ask what the customer prefers. Some want them closed, and some like them open to enjoy the new light from the clean windows

I will leave blinds how I find them…
Usually they are down, but open.
I will only leave blinds that I have had difficulty in lowering for some reason, and advise the customer this as I dont want to run the risk of damaging it (they usually know of their dodgy blinds, and are equipped/experienced to deal with it).
But I always go with the customers instructions - some like them left open to enjoy the fresh, clean experience of clean windows, and they will do the blinds later…
We leave them up so the “WOW effect” really grabs their attention!
If it is summer, we also leave the double hung cracked open so they see the awesome job we did on their tracking too!
We ALLWAYS leave em the way we find them.
Our “WOW” shows through blinds up or down.

Same way here. “The only way I want my presence to be known is the clearly blinding results I produce, when I leave the customer’s home”. 
I leave them the way I found them, but I will always leave the louvers open, I cant tell you haw many customers have said “how much brighter the room is”
You guys are killin me with this “leave em how you found them” shit.
Especially when you proceed to admit making a tweak with the louvers.

I guess my thoughts would be as a customer, that if I paid to have something cleaned whether it be maid service, carpet cleaning or window cleaning,
If the things aren’t back the way they were, they didnot finish the job.
So if one hires a carpet cleaner and they left the furniture. Not back where it was “to show they were there or what a great job they did” that’s a good thing??
Or do they think the job is not completed thoroughly?
Now they have to go through the house putting all the blinds back. all the time grumbling about the window cleaner who didn’t do a thorough job putting things back as they were found.
I would ask the customer how they want their blinds
(They are the ones paying your bills) if one thinks leavening them up are so critical.
One should not assume that’s what your customer wants
