[COLOR=#222222][FONT=Verdana]Just wondered how you leave the window blinds after completing a residential window cleaning. Do you close the blinds, leave them up, close them but turn the louvers to open position? Just curious. I know you want to show your work but wondered what the etiquette would be. Thanks. check with owner if it’s there if nobody is home I always leave them up
I try to leave them the way I found them. If I can I like to leave the place exactly as I found it. The only way that they should know I was there is that they now have clean windows to enjoy at their leisure. The last time they opened their blinds - windows were dirty and they called me. Next time they open their blinds windows are clean and they will think of me next time they are dirty.
If the blinds are clean

Well, that is for a different thread.
That’s one of the reasons I leave them up .

Nobody could ever complain if you just leave them the way you found them .

I leave each window how I found it before I cleaned the glass. I let the customer know that everything will look the same but brighter.

Closed in open position.
I understand, and have used, the other ways… it IS nice to brighten up that room, in a literal sense.
But I always have a worker whose job is; move shit out of way/clear space, open blinds, lay drop cloth, remove screen, move to next window.
- replace screens, reclaim dropcloth, close blinds, open louver.
An open blind = unfinished window in my “day to day.”
We leave them the way we found them. I feel to create more work for the customer having to go around and put things back in order takes away from the service we provide.
I leave the blinds down but open in every room. My reasoning is that then they know I was there and they can walk around and see our work. Doing it that way 11 years, never had a complaint.
I will ask, if the homeowner is not there, I leave them the way I found them
Yeah, I’ll put them back the way they were, but if they were closed, I might open them up to let the light in.
Just remember to always help the blinds up with your hand. You never know who installed them and drywall is not a good anchor for those super heavy blinds.
Sometimes I just feel like this tho
Thanks for the laugh Jared!
As they were…
Tho i do open them up just a tad. Gotta see that clean glass ya know
Thanks for the replies. Looks like most just leave them the way they were when they started. I like to leave the blinds closed with the louvers in the open position. Just sometimes feel like I am trying to hide something if I leave them completely closed. Thanks.
Yes. This way they can see your work too.

I usually leave them half down. No particular reason other than thats usually the way I find them.
I leave them the way I found them as well.
Totally agree with Jared’s advice to support the blind’s weight while moving it.
Also, I make sure the ends are level and the vanes are turned the same way.
