How many people do you work with directly when doing a home if anyone?
I personally have found that working with one employee is better than working with 2. Adding a 3rd guy to the team just isn’t profitable for me.
How many houses can you do in say an 8 hour day going straight from site to site?
We find we can manage 4 - 5 houses a day as a 2 man team.
As a side question… have any of you used bag lawn signs with the metal wire thing? I am about to order 25 of them to put on my customers lawn if they allow me but its going to run me $400 after shipping and tax.
4-5 houses seems like alot to me. I do only 2 but I’m by myself. I was figuring 3 maybe four with another guy if we work till 7 pm or so, not sure I want to work that late. I am either slow (very likely) or you are using wfp which I don’t have. Interested to see what everyone else is doing. I need to pick the pace maybe.
Ya they are pretty small homes, ranging from 1000 sq ft (town home) to 2500sq ft. We get the odd mansion in the countryside, could only do 2 of those a day for sure! Also we do a lot of exterior only window cleaning - we can do a house in 30 mins sometimes.
We have a crew of 3 on almost every job. We typically do 3-4 homes a day. The travel time between jobs, set up and packing up makes it really hard to do more than 4 a day. Plus after the 4th I dont think I could stand to do another anyways. I wanna get home and drink a beer!
The size of the job is the question here. Last week we had a day where we did 3 $350-$400 jobs from 9am to 5pm. I wish everyday were that easy. A lotta times we’ll have smaller jobs in the schedule and they just end up eating your time.
In my own business, with the type of homes we have here, seems to be around 1,000 sft in and out, per each up to speed veteran
so about 6000 sft in and out total per man in an 8 hour day
88% of that *2 for two people
75% of that *3 for 3 people
drive time adds up, not because of more people, but the additional stops *3 people is a lot out of and 8hour workday * 3 people (15 min to next job for one person is 15 min, butit’s 45 mins of the total man hours for the day)
not useing water fed pole we (2) can do 3 to 5 houses 2500sqft+, or with 3 of us we can do 4 to 6, or with 4 of us we will hit 7. but average 4 to 5 8am to 5 pm…
