How to deal with painted on advertising?

How do you guys deal with the big honking painted on lettering? Or Christmas Santa’s or easter eggs/ bunnies that customers insist on gettting painted onto their storefronts? I avoid approaching that store in general but last month I showed up and was about half way through a store and came around the corner there was some dude painting big old red hearts on the glass. The customer asked me to cut my price, i just asked who was going to end up scraping them off? He relented and paid full price. This month I got full price but had to scrape the paint off and then drag out a hose to blast the scraped off paint off of his sidewalk. I think I should have got him for more this month cuz thattook an extra hour. I bit my tongue and just did it because my business is still a baby and I need that 75 dollars a month. What would you more experienced guys do or charge? 12 big storefront panes with some paint on each.

Decorative Paint Removal Thread

Here’s a pretty good thread about how to do it. Looks like foaming glass cleaner (sprayaway, et al), and a blade are your best bet. And it looks as if most charge $4 - $5 per pane for removal.

Sorry should have searched. That’s just what i was hunting for.

Unless you were looking for advice on how to use a ledger on a pole from a unicycle, the answer can most likely be found using the search function. (Before I typed that I searched “unicycle ledger”)
