How to score endless" free" company logo t-shirts & towels/rags

Today I scored $70 retail worth of custom shirts with my logo for a cleaning $25 storefront size.

Figured I would pass this on if others are interested in trying it, it’s called bartering :rolleyes:

Here are the steps I took.

1 - Finalized Company Logo / T-Shirt design
2 - Find a Locall T-Shirt printing company
3 - Trade cleaning their windows for (choose a #) of shirts on a schedule every 2 weeks to a month.
4 - Ask what they do with mis-prints and scrap shirts… My printer is now saving them for me to pick up for cleaning rags.

Just thought I’d pass my stroke of luck along! Does anyone else here barter window washing? What for?

Legend - I love it!

I haven’t traded window washing for anything yet (only been doing it since the start of the year) but did manage to swap some glass scratch removal with a signage company for a ‘street talker’ and signwriting on the car.

Have thought of maybe pitching the concept to some of my favourite restaurants for meal vouchers etc.

I’ve bartered for some stuff over the years. Most recently, I setup a trade with a coffee shop that’s right in the middle of one of my routes. I clean their 4 storefront windows for a premium coffee/drink and 2 pastries. I always like to stop for a coffee break anyway, and this has built some more presence in the community. Not to mention all of the baristas are passing out my cards now :).

I’ve also bartered for ski/snowboard equipment and radio ads.

I trade 3 clean windows for my hair cut once a month.

Just talked to lady that owns her own design shop. She’s going to design a customized logo for me (just using one from Vista print right now), then make place logo on shirts, hats and a wrap for my truck for washing her windows 2 times within the next year. Should have several designs to choose from by May 12. This makes me happy!

I trade a local boxing gym. 1x month in and out
To work out after work

I do a restaurant every other week (in and out) that my wife works at.

I get a meal for 2 incl 2 drinks.

It works out quite good, as we have a nice meal out together for free (kinda).

If it works for you, or it’s something that can help you some how, then why not :slight_smile:

My buddy and I started out cleaning a smoothie shop for free drinks, a bagel shop for bags of free bagels, and a chiropractor office for free adjustments. Wouldn’t do any of those things anymore, but in the beginning it was kinda cool.
