Hi pro cleaners,
The question I bestow to you is how does one tell the difference between a good squeegee channel and a bad one?.
Is it the material? The shape? Or are they all the same? And which one would you recommend?
Thank you.

If it says Sorbo on it. Then you can tell it’s a good one . If it says liquidater it’s god like
Oh the bad ones you find those at Home Depot
I use brass squeegees for all work except construction cleaning, and that is stainless. If the brass squeegees are straight with no defects or other nicks in the edges, they are good. If not they get cut into smaller channels. I don’t buy the plastic, metalized plastic, aluminum or any other product except brass or stainless. Squeegees are consumables, they are cheap in the overall scheme of things. Buy quality tools that fit you well and life gets good
One thing I find is that if you use brass channels too hard they tend to bow in the middle after months of hard use…
If it says Ettore, it’s good…
I switched to stainless because I was having problems with the brass not being straight after a while. One good drop and it gets messed up. I haven’t had any problems with stainless. It’s lighter than brass but it sparks really nice when you cut it with a saw.
There is a difference between manufacturers in height and how flat it lays. Pulex is a good starting channel, ettore is a little stiffer (seems to lay flatter).
Oh, and the rubber is different too. Ettore is my go-to rubber, but pulex, and other brands are interchangable - except unger. I tried unger rubber and it’s shorter and I could NOT get it to pull right and fanning was like being kicked in the face with a golf shoe.
I have brass channels that I have had for over 10 years without bowing, my current 16" ettore is my everyday channel and its 5 + years old and perfectly straight.
The cheap brass ones will bend rather easily, but the ettore brass will last decades.
Anything over 16" should be wide body imo
Thank you everyone. I think calling you pro is an underestimate of your knowledge. You’re all genius. Your answers are very much appreciated. Cheers.

Ahh, that might have been it. I think I had pulex… I can’t remember. But I still like stainless. =)

Its not bent
I think I was putting too much pressure on my squeegee in my early days. I’ve had channels last a long time now too since I let up on the pressure.
