I’ve bought the unger pads to use for cleaning high windows inside. could use some helpful tips please
Morning, there are a ton of great threads on this subject, I couldn’t pick one…
So this is what I typed into the search button here…“Unger pads” and it came up with a min search results of 50 thread topics…
Hope this helps…
add “Speed Clean” and “indoor kit” to your search and you will have enough to write a 10 page summary of the How to’s and the Where’s and the When’s. Please post your summary for extra credit.
thanks steve
The replacement packets are pricey so I started out by putting tap water or DI water on my pads then I sprayed 3M Glass Cleaner on them. It is commonly assumed that 3M Glass Cleaner is the product in the solution in the packets.
This might sound wetter than most people would need for indoor glass but I used mine for homes that had wood stoves and there was smoke residue on the upper windows that required lots of extra work. Wood stoves are a common backup source of heat in my area. I also had to switch pads and clean them when working with the smoke residue windows.
very good info thanks! question though do you still have film residue sometimes on the glass with this method?
and can you use this 3m process on mirrors as well? i have two gyms in my route that are asking if I’m willing to do mirrors.
Good question. I attached terry cloth towels (microfiber cloths would have worked just as well) to the pads with rubber bands to get the panes dry.
Yes, I use 3M Glass Cleaner on about over 40 mirror surfaces per week.
I did an experiment to see if their claims about a protective film building up was accurate. I sprayed and cleaned my bathroom mirrors after every showering and after several days an invisible file built up that made the steam from the shower go away when I opened the bathroom door.
thats good to know. looks like ill be trying to round up sum 3m spray. know of any good deals?
I hope that WCR starts carrying it soon.
if possible you want the concentrate which is around 50 bucks for 43 gallons of mixed.
50 bucks for 43 gallons sounds like a real good deal if you can find it.
in the us it’s easy to get from janitorial supply places, 3m canada does not bring in here to north mexico, not sure about alaska.
