How would you clean these?

The following pictures show some windows that I believe are next to impossible if you want to go nose-to-glass. I have the good fortune of having a wfp, as shown in the last shot.

The windows are below ground level.
The first pic shows the access area above the windows. Note the window well is surounded by walls on 3 sides, and a fence topped with 6 inch spikes.
The seoncd pic shows the windows. They are set in about 5 inches from the face of the wall. So, the ledge you have to deal with is actually at the top of the windows.

I can’t see how one would access these with a ladder…without risking impalement on the fence, or some other risky manuever.

I have in mind how I’d clean these if I didn’t have a wfp. I’ll post that later, but I want to first hear how you all might clean these.

Put a 6 year old kid down there, 3 1/2 to 4 feet in height at a weight of about 50-55 lbs.

I would put a ladder on the inside of the fence against a side wall, then put a step ladder on the outside of the fence and step over. As long as the ground was flat and the ladders felt secure.

Did they come out well with the WFP?

Actually, looking at the pic again a step ladder may not be close enough to the fence to safely step over. The fence is placed on the inside part of that cement ledge.

I can’t tell if it’s wide enough, but I would try a little giant as a stepladder with one side fully extended, set up over the rail. Similar to how you would use it on stairs.

They came out great with wfp.

If you’re going to use ladders, that would be the only way. But, it would be a very risky move, and the ladders would really be too far apart for comfort…it could be done, but I’d be nervous doing it.

I’d thought of that too. I have Werner’s version of the Little Giant. Mine is the 22 footer (when in the extension ladder configuration). The window well is too deep to use the Little Giant in the A frame configuration. It’s about a 15 foot drop from the top of the fence to the bottom of the pit.

If I didn’t have a wfp, I’d use my 2 24 foot Garelick poles, one with the strip washer on it and the other with my 18 inch Wagtail. I’d soap the windows and use the Wagtail with a side-to-side straight stroke instead of up-and-down. This would allow you to get the window pane clean from top to bottom.

I was brought into the industry by a company who does store front work almost exclusively. They use poles, not ladders. So, I’ve had years of pole use and have gotten pretty skilled at pole work.

I would jump the fence and jump down and clean away. If I had to I would use a ladder. Im really not understanding the problem here. From the pic it looks easy as hell but I guess Im missing something, or am I ??

It’s hard to tell from the pics, but it’s about a 15 foot drop from the top of the fence down to the bottom of the window well, and about a 12 foot drop from the base of the fence to the bottom of the window well. You’d easily survive the jump down, but you’d be trapped without a ladder.

This is how I would do it.

Take 3 pieces, bungee them together, and slide it down the wall of the pit.
Hop on a top piece, climb over to the 3 piece.
Clean the window…

See my ‘high tech demonstration’
