I found out that I hate passing out flyers

It must suck having to walk up to front doors, most people here ride around an a moped delivering flyers, didn’t realize how lucky I have it able to place leaflets in mailboxes.

Where I’m at lots of people have no soliciting signs and have to skip house. I think I skipped 30 house in the neighborhood I did today. Last week I skipped 30 or 40 houses in a neighborhood.

i could only get out about 100 before my feet hurt too much, but that takes about 2-2.5 hours, put out 3000 and it won’t mess with you anymore

… I can’t imagine anyone jumping out of bed and being excited about going out to flyer… One of the reasons I have concentrated on eddm is because I hate putting out fliers…The other is because my area is mostly rural and houses are not really walkable. And eddm has worked really well for me.

I will be moving to that when I have enough money for it.

You were wearing a yellow shirt and in my neighborhood. I took all your door flyers off and applied mine. LOL.

Flyers are considered a Handbill.

Handbills are protected under the freedom of speech according to our constitution. Federal outweighs local in court. Let alone some sign in a neighborhood.

People with no soliciting signs have trouble saying no to people. That is why they have the sign. They will buy anything.

You are not asking for money on the spot. You are not soliciting. You are just spreading the word about a great offer you have that can improve their quality of life. I have had many a HOA president call me and try to bully me. I don’t stand for it.

Freedom of speech is freedom of speech. Period.

My Karma will run over your Dogma my friend.

Be careful out there. I am sure you are playing around, but can you imagine some fool doing that to you?

If I run into a neighborhood already stacked with flyers. I go to another neighborhood. Then I come back to that one in 48-72 hours.

The first company plants the seed of cleaning their windows and lets the idea cook. Then they lose the bucket bob flier to find your brand new spanky professional flier once they decided its time to get their windows done, talked to the spouse, budgeted money, etc.

At that point. All they really need is your phone number.

Repeatedly proven that the second run of flyers is more productive than the first. So why not leverage their marketing to increase your conversions?

We don’t cold-call houses, but we do cold-call business, including ones with No Soliciting signs. I just say, “I’m not selling anything, I’m just handing out free estimates.” Semantic argument? Maybe.

Every once in awhile people give you a hard time for it, but for the most part, as long as you’re polite, and not disruptive in any way, it’s all good.

Did you really

I was in a yellow shirt that is a ass hole move of you. I thought that was strange that I didn’t get one call back. All I need is one call back and I will under bid that whole neighborhood just cause you took my flyers down.

No, but you are in my neighborhood.

You need to take a deep breath. Most of your flyers were down by the end of the day, but that’s because people took them into their homes. You really expect a call back within hours of handing out fliers?

Free country about handing out flyers and I’m just ribbing you. Just don’t buck bob my hood. LOL

Yes we are both in Austin. That is messed up. This also why I don’t like to contribute much anymore I feel like other wannabe window cleaners are on here that are in my area

What’s messed up is that you think you own Austin. Maybe you didn’t get a call because the neighborhood already has a primary provider?

I’m chilling out. Not calling you wannabe. But that’s not funny dude. It’s hard to read sarcasm sometimes. Most if the time you should get 1 call from a neighborhood like that.

But since I didn’t get you were joking I will apologize for getting a little bent out of shape. And I will not under bid the neighborhood it would just lower our value as a whole.

and i apologize. Cheers.

well that exchange was highly amusing although possibly stressful for the participants.

now some of my thoughts…
i don’t think leaving flyers is soliciting.
you will however get more business (in my experience) from actually soliciting.
i have found that i love/hate knocking on doors. i have hired people to knock and give a brief intro and ask if we could do a free estimate this has provided more business than dropping the flyers which they do if no one is home. but the results vary hugely with the individual. AND here ( the great whit north)we must be licensed and bonded with the the city specifically to sell anything to homeowners outside a store setting.
also here it is illegal to put anything in persons mail box the mailbox is for the homeowner to receive mail from canada post only, even though they no longer deliver mail to households in any newer neighbourhood.

i always stuff flyers between the door and the weatherstripping which is much more visible anyway.

i have some areas i have knocked every week or 2, definitely worth it.

Here the mailbox is off limits as well and if there is no soliciting signs you can’t knock or put flyers. (Not sure about flyer actually) other surrounding areas you have to get a permit to knock or flyer. supermerc have you had problems with flyering outside of Austin
