Stage #4 and Final Stage will be completed this Saturday at the same time I begin stage #2 for my Screen Roll Rack. Here shortly i will add measurements and quantity of each piece.
This is mostly intended to be used to hold my 4-6 different color/width of screen frame. However, until I have completed this project along with project number two, of which you can see in my colorful drawing, I have my screen rolls standing in place of the frame sticks.
Not bad. You could probably use pvc gutter material to hold corners, springs, etc. Or are you going to build a table to hold spline and small parts?
PVC is great for testing out an idea because it’s cheap but it doesn’t tend to be durable. My motto is “Why buy it for $9 when I can make it myself for, oh, about $92…”
Project number two will contain the small parts with the mesh, spline, and corners. But I am loving the sound of the gutter corners. I work at my local Ace Hardware I get things fairly cheap so I might just get some other bins. Depends on what my finished project looks like.
For just holding light weight screen frames this is more than durable. What is a good average frame width to use? I currently have 5/16"x3/4" (.020 ga.) and 7/16"x3/4" (.020 ga.) - should i use thicker or?
Pretty much everything in my area that I’ve done is 5/16. The issue is matching the colors. Maybe 70% are white, 15% are bronze, 10% are almond, and 5% are miscellaneous. And almost every screen is running the 125 spline.
The local company I buy from sells the frame material in 12’ lengths.
Thanks for your opinion I really appreciate the feedback. Yeah I would highly agree with your %'s.
I would love to get the 12’, unfortunately for me my garage roof is max 9’…
How much do you pay on average for your frame stick and how many?
DO you buy full rolls of spline at a time?
I currently have a 100’ X 5’ charcoal, 100’ X 48" Gray and 100’ X 5’ Pet Screen Black. Ranging between $40-$100
I buy packages of 25’ splines for $1.09…
