I want to giveaway a free residential window cleaning

I am thinking about giving away a free residential window cleaning. We have an event that goes on at my kids school. They have games for the kids and giveaways for the adults. I wanted to know what I should offer, or wanted to know what others have done. I dont want to give away a cleaning and find out its some mansion with 100 windows. Maybe thats a chance I take. Do I need to put some sort of restrictions in the giveawy? Thanks.

I actually was going to do the same thing in my newsletter i send out to clients and i think it will have some benefits. I thought about deciding how much of my time i am willing to give away and give that as a voucher. You think that a 200 gift card would be sufficient? that way you know you have a cap on what you have to devote to that home

We donate a few thousand dollars of window cleaning a year, but we give 2 $200 at a time for people’s raffle’s.

If you are doing it, don’t expect a return, do it to be generous and kind.

We usually do this with church silent auctions, just make sure on the cert to put stipulation like a deadline, how many windows stuff like that

Read some of Brett Bailey’s posts on the subject. Charity rewards you in spades.

These are all good ideas. I think a $200.00 voucher would be the way to go. Although the only problem with that is it gives the winner no idea what that will cover. I wonder if it is better to go with a number of windows. Anymore input would be great. Thanks.

I give $500 minimum vouchers for silent auctions and raffles. I want the charity to make money. My average resi pays more than 200. I want to get into the 500+ neighborhoods.

If you are going to give away a full or half day of labor, go for the biggest mansions in town

Place a restriction on the count of windows or amount to be cleaned. I donated to a kids cancer fund and took it up the brown bad. Woman bid like $50 and won. When I called for schedule and window count I was told 25 windows. I got to the home and it was more like 65 3 level 5500 sq home. The job took 2 days as I prepared the 1st day for a 25 window home and did not bring the proper equipment (my fault). But I also had to reschedule another customer who never booked again. So you are correct in worrying. So place restrictions and be clear about them.

I usually give away a coupon that stipulates “up to 20 regular sized windows cleaned inside and out or $200 worth of regular priced window cleaning on your choice of windows.” That seems to cover me and also provide a good giveaway.
