I fill you brother… That kinda sounded like my day today… used my WFP on a 2 story building and the pressure sucked… I can pee harder than the pressure that was coming out of my pole… I was very disappointed in the end results. Ended up squeegeeing all the glass around the entrance of the building.

My aforementioned problem might have been the beginning of a much bigger issue. Holy hell am I frustrated. So, this morning I’m set to finish the retirement home and I notice I’m getting even lower pressure than the day before. Shortly thereafter, I see some black and yellow tiny beads coming out of my pole onto the glass. At first I thought it was dirt and sand, but quickly realized it wasn’t cause it was “in” the water. It was coming up my hose out of the Hydro Tube and backing up at the brush. I unhook the tubes at the head of the brush and gobs of this stuff comes pouring out. Best way to describe it would be a black slushy. Total freak out mode now.

The only thing I can see that I was doing differently today than yesterday was that I had placed my Tube at an angle on the side of a hill, and not level. Had a filter broke? Was this resin membrane running up the tube because it was on a hill? I had no idea. I called Ray at IPC and explained to him what was going on. Long story short, he couldn’t really understand why or what was happening. Maybe it was a manufacturing malfunction and a filter needed to be replaced.

Anyway, I leveled my Hydro Tube, have to actually suck this black slush of the the hoses with my mouth(gross), hand checked the TDS (about 006) and finished the last side of the building. No more of the slush came out, but the windows came out very poorly. Major spotting all over. Went to check the rest of the building from yesterdays work, same thing. Spotting everywhere.

End result- I got my ass kicked, embarrassed myself as a professional and need to remedy this situation quickly… Maybe I did something wrong, not sure. Will get back on the horn with IPC tomorrow, so hopefully I can bring better news and a happy ending.

It sounds to me like the DI sock or filter is ripped or cracked. I would stop using it. The beads can clog up your pole and may scratch the glass. I wouldn’t take the chance. The more DI you lose the higher the TDS will go.

Panic is over! So yeah, the DI filter was the issue. IPC is sending me a new replacement DI. Hopefully this is just a rare incident and not common with the Hydro Tube

Sorry to hear your bad day with the WFP! I was thinking of making the hydro tube my second system… I think I’ll keep using my cart and wait a bit on that one.

Holy @%!# - I feel for you man, what a nightmare.

I was looking at the weight and how easy this is to pull around thinking if I ever bought another one this is def. in the running. I need to start using my first one though

Well, it’s been almost a month since my Hydrotube fail and a few weeks since I got the replacement filter from IPC so I thought I’d drop by and let you all know how it’s been working. I’ve used it about 10 times in those few weeks and the results have been pretty good. The portability of this thing is awesome. Getting it in and out of my truck is a breeze. I’m still not crazy about how weak the water pressure has been on a few jobs, but I am going to look into the pump Tony mentioned Ace Hardware sells and see if that helps.

It’s my first pure water “cart” so I don’t have any way to compare it to anything else I’ve personally used; just what I’ve seen other companies work with. But overall I’d have to say I’m happy with my purchase. Anyone else invest in this guy yet?

IPC Eagle Eco-Boost Pump Module

This is the pump sold by IPC for the Hydro Tube. It will really ramp up your water pressure for those jobs with low incoming pressure.

You also could go with a tank and pump system like mine. That way on low pressure jobs you just use the tank and pump and be filling the tank while you are working. This would be cheeper than being the IPC booster pump. Take a look at this video IPC HydroTube - YouTube
