I don’t know anything about this, so please excuse my ignorance. But is there? I’d like more info on this if there’s anyone kind enough to help me.
Thanks in advance!!

You can get services that will charge you with a monthly fee to keep up with it for you. If you want to go that route you’ll want to be careful because there are a lot of scammers out there. I haven’t really looked into it, but I’m sure you could find someone to get your site optimized for you and then you could keep up with it yourself. Or if you wanted to learn it yourself it’s really not too difficult.
It all depends! Depends on who you hire to do your SEO work. Some SEO consultants will charge you a flat fee, while others will charge an ongoing fee. In general, you are probably better off working with someone who will continue working with you for several months at least. It’s hard to get results and measure them in a short period of time, so ask your SEO guru what you can expect, when results will happen, and how they’ll be measured.
Rates can vary tremendously. Some will charge a relatively modest fee, while others will quote hundreds of dollars per hour.
There are a number of basic things you can do yourself, for free. There’s information about basic SEO tactics on several web sites. Like the importance of having a good title, and meta description, and so on.
Thanks guys… After doing some research today, Pretty sure I can do this myself. I have a reputable company building my website. What exactly do I ask/need him to do in order for SEO to work with if I’m maintaining it. Also I know nothing about the hosting. He said it would cost $10 a month for them to host it. Is this ($10) going to allow me to do whatever it is I need to do for SEO?
The hosting shouldn’t matter. But that depends on how much access you’re granted with the hosting account. At the very least you should be able to access your webpages. Is this site a static html site, wordpress, joomla, drupal, or something else? What the site is built with will determine how much access (or at least how easy it is to get to them) you have to your files too. I’d find out what exactly they’re doing for SEO. They may not be doing anything (unlikely if they’re reputable). Find out how much access you’re going to have to the files so you can edit them. Find out if they have a tool that you can use to make it easier (When I build Wordpress themes I include a tool to make adding your meta data easily). Have they asked what keywords you’re wanting to rank for? That could tell you if they’re doing much SEO for you.
the 10 bucks per month is pretty high for hosting. hosting has nothing to do with seo but is nessisary for your site to be online. i paid 50 or 60 for the whole year.
have them build a wordpress site, there good for seo.
i used bluehost.com
If you are gonna get good SEO, its going to cost big money. I gotta hookup that I can’t afford at the moment but I plan on using him this year. Its 2000 bucks a month, and theres no contract or anything but you will get detailed reports on EVERYTHING that is done. His company is the one that did all the SEO for Dell computers.
If you google computer, under wikipedia you will see Dell.
Check the source code for the website, you won’t see that word anywhere in their meta description, you won’t see the word computer or any variation of it on that page at all.
You will also find about 20,000 backlinks to the site.
Basically, if you have GREAT SEO, you can put any kind of wording on it to appeal to clients. My #1 goal.
Like I said, I just don’t have the budget right now for it…but when I DO do it…this will be the man I use.
My point is, it is going to cost some serious coin to get it done right. Real SEO companies don’t really solicit. They have huge accounts. People come to them. Of course, there are things you can do in the meantime that will improve your rankings. There are SEO forums that will give you alot of info so you can DIY and get quick results.
The SEO for wordpress really depends on how the theme was build. Some themes are built with no thought of SEO (a lot of the free themes are that way). But if you get a decent theme then the SEO is great! I love wordpress a ton and highly recommend it for anyone in the window cleaning community.
why would you change what what your doing now, your already the top dog around here on google.
They wanted to do the SEO for me at $75 a month. I read somewhere else that these monthly programs drag out and take longer than if I learn to do it myself. So I told him no thank you and they seem to still be really excited to build the website and give me $10 a month hosting. I’m fine paying the $10 as long as this does what I expect.
I understand this probably isn’t something people who have figured it out want to share with everyone, and I respect that. I don’t mind spending the time and work figuring it out. Will someone give me a hint of where to go?
As far as where to go I couldn’t really tell you. I’ve read a couple books (none that stand out as amazing). Check with your library to see what books they have on SEO. Google has several tools that could help you. Sign up for an account (if you don’t have one already) and check out their webmaster tools. I don’t mind sharing with you what I know since you don’t live anywhere near me. If you want to give me a call sometime (918) 605-7906 all be happy to give you a hand. There’s so many things you can do to help with SEO it’s kinda a pain to type it all out. There’s your meta data, keyword density, alt tags, title tags (different than your head title tags), backlinks, reciprocal links, telling the search engines about your site, site age, fresh content, etc. There’s quite a bit that goes into it but once you have the basics down you should be able to dominate your local market. The key to SEO is to do more than your competition. Like I said give me a call and we can chat sometime.
Thanks for the compliment big Trevor, but take a look around our city…there are alot more poping up and many of them are extremely smart have have their act together.
My site has WAY too much wording on it. I want to be able to have much less wording on my site without hurting my rankings.
Look at the Sure Shine site, and Lee lee’s site. Justin is a nice guy, but his site isn’t too well put together, he has first place.
The other is just jiberish but he’s got top placement because of his domain age. The guy is a joke, but he don’t have to do a thing to his site because he has the luxury of having an old domain. I met the person who did the SEO for his site too.
My point? You always need to step up your game so your not overtaken. Its better to have others trying to figure out what you are doing.
+1
