Is there such a thing?

In the states you can find them with the hole running along the center, don’t know about the uk?

Another nice thing about the Werner Quick Click is that you can easily attach it several rungs down which allows the ladder to extend higher above the roof edge. Makes it safer to get on and off the roof.

Great point.

And that’s exactly what OSHA requires.

She said other than standoff…So the spray in bed liner in a can for a truck bed…or the roll on kind…either way it is rubber and it keeps it from sliding so much…Just sand the ladder to rough it up a bit for a good bond and no more scratches. there are time the standoff wont work.

great replies guys, thanks…I will check out the werner quick click this week. I need to buy another ladder too, so maybe I will pick one of those up while I’m there. Ill check lowes, if not I may give a few of the other suggestions a shot. Thanks!

As the others have said Sharen, the stand off is your only option if you want to be safe. Better safe than sorry right?

Lowe’s and HD both carry them here for about forty clams.

Thad, just wanted to let you know I did purchase a werner quick click from lowes, It is easy to attach and lightweight. I think i may even get a set of stabilizers for the feet. Have one on another ladder and love it.

yep…$45 at lowes…got one!!

Hi,

I have a 4 foot brace/standoff that come out on both sides with rubber stoppers. When I position the ladder I play those on top of the roof allowing about 4-5 inches from the gutter it seems to be pretty sturdy for me. Just be sure all safety pins are locked in.

Im having trouble lining up the bottom pin w/the hole on the quick click. I installed it a few rungs down so the top of ladder is above the roof. The top part slides onto the upper rung easily and seems secure but it seems as tho the part that goes onto the lower rung doesnt slide all the way down and the pin wont line up. Is it ok to use without the pin being secure? Could it be the ladder? It 20 ft werner extnsion.

Try tapping on the top to seat it a little better.

Don’t use unless the pin is secure, lest the stabilizer moves up and off (kinda like sectionals w/o a pin…)

Try moving the locking cam into place. Make sure you’re putting it on the right direction – fly section facing away from you.

You’ll need to extend the fly up a few rungs, obviously.

When doing this I’d also suggest holding the latch back with your finger to insure the stabilizer is on all the way on.

The Werner Equalizer with a Werner QuickClip is my standard ladder.

Placing a ladder on a gutter is extremely dangers, as the gutter is not meant for load bearing. It can be damaged and you can very easily fall. Not to mention when working at that height it’s important to have the added stability of a stabilizer. It will help prevent the ladder from slipping out and also rolling to the side.

I have found it easier to place the QuickClip on the ladder while the ladder is on the ground. Pick the ladder up so the QuickClip isn’t holding any weight. This will allow you to slip it onto the rungs a little easier.

Same here-- works great.

Thanks Larry :o Im embarrassed to admit this…but i put the arms of the stabilizer on backwards and I didnt have the fly section facing away. I know what you guys are thinking…shes a woman, what do you expect…lol…live and learn. thanks tho, appreciate the help.

Yeah but now you know, It will be like riding a bike.

Sharen,
I have been using the WERNER ladder stabilizer for over 15 years now. The stabilizers I use are the werner wing nut kind. I have used the Quik Click version but it does tend to move around a little. I used one on a fiberglass 20’ extention for about 5 years until I replaced that ladder and I got rid of the quick click. If you get used to having stabilizers on ladders and cleaning gutters, wait until you see for yourself the benefits of using one for doing windows. I would guess that you will stop climbing extention ladders without a stabilzer attached to them.
