I got an email from Mark Reinhart confirming that these are the 6 candidates
for the 4 open positions that were announced at the IWCA meeting:
Theresa Martin
Matt Pierce
Jeff Ausprung
Chris Lambrinides
Sheila Smeltzer
Vickie Wagner
Yes these are the six. All very good candidates. They all have been involved & all bring good experience, and ideas to the table. Some have been on the BOD in the past.
It would be nice to see more voting going on this year. I think that less than 20% of the membership actually voted last year. Members should visit the IWCA web site (IWCA - International Window Cleaning Association ) read what each has to offer and make a decision based what is in the best interests of the IWCA. Then vote……
FYI: I think the scholarship applications are being offered now & need to be turned in. Visit the IWCA web site ( IWCA - International Window Cleaning Association ) for more details. Just a heads up I don’t think you have to be a member to apply.
Sorry to be so vague on this just don’t have time to confirm right now.
I’ve read good things about all these candidates and of course most of us here know that Chris Lambrinides is a firm supporter of the fight against fabrication debris.
The by-laws say something to the effect that Directors can’t run for
re-election the year after their term ends, unless they’ve been appointed to
fill a position.
I believe there’s a similar rule for officers.
So in effect, after you’ve been out of office for a year, you’re eligible to
run for Director.
And if you have been on the Board for at least 2 of the previous 5 years you
can run for an officer position.
A former president who has been off the Board for longer than that can only
run for a Director position.
But I think that any former officer who waited only one year could run for
any position they wanted - including President-Elect.
Theoretically, you could end up with a rotation of 4 people, taking turns
being President-Elect, President, Past President - or sitting out a year.
