What is it used for?
If im guessing correctly, its for maintaining pressure on the sides of the type of tilt in windows where you push on the jamb to tilt the window. The hard part is pushing on both sides and tilting the window at the same time, this would hold the jambs apart and let your hands free to work the window

I think you may be thinking of the wrong kind of tilt in, These do not have any mechanics, just brute force compression.
not sure this tooth pick would open these types of jams. It takes a lot of pressure to compress them. I dont see this thing doing it. Good idea, bad design.
