Joist app (estimates and invoices)

Anyone here have any experience with the app Joist? Stumbled across it and it seems pretty solid for emailing estimates and invoices to customers.

Friggin awesome for starting out with man. You’ll probably outgrow it. I’m just getting there but you can accept credit cards and everything through it.

Awesome thanks!!

The joist app is a solid app.
It is simple and affective and does what it says it will do, and like @Trenchfeet said you can take credit card payments with it.

I used it for a while , works great! If you ever want something more check out HouseCall Pro. https://housecallpro.com/lukestenner

We started using this after Luke did a video and it was talked about. We so far have no issues and its full of my weekly route clients simple fast easy to use the sign on phone is a great option to get the stores to verify you were at the stop on that day.
We bill monthly on most ( a handful still pay cash) so the signed form is just a great back up.

They did add the CC and E-check option we haven’t touched that yet still use Square been with them since day one when we had the Commercial cleaning company (we used quickbook with that).

I.M.O a great starter app and keep using till you feel you need to get more options. Me I like how simple it is.

House call for nearly two years now very good

For HouseCall, customers can pay online correct? How much per credit card transaction? And are housecall and joist pretty much the same? I’m checking them both out but wanting to know if there are any differences that will come when I actually start using them. Thanks

I know nothing about joist and really not interested in comparing mainly because I’ve found a real good solution w HCP

App is top notch
Many ways for a customer to pay not sure of my cc rate it’s fine there all about the same anyways

Awesome thanks

anyway… back to Joist. Anyone currently using this?

This is so weird. I literally just posted on Reddit asking what everyone’s favorite free invoicing app was. Are you stalking me bro?

maybe… keep me posted tho, I’m checking out wave now… looks decent.

Someone also suggested wave to me. Coincidence I guess. Kinda weird haha. But yeah I think I’m gonna go with joist. Still have to get my EIN but have to get my DBA filed first

Yes.

I like wave because of the accounting features. What are you guys using for accounting?

What questions do you have specifically.

Joist has basically everything you need estimate, invoicing, credit card option, payment history.

I currently use wave. No issues so far and it’s free

I was using joist. Its great entry level and I guess Steve makes it work ok. It’s good enough to pull off a professional approach for estimates and invoicing. Hopefully you graduate after a while to something more automated and feature rich.

Yes there are a few good more robust options available out there for sure especially if you have employees… Jobber, TCF and others just to name a couple.
But Joist and Google calendar working in tandem works good for solo operations, if you learn to use them right.
