Hostgator is cheap and good. I use godaddy for the name and hostgator for the host.

My advice is to find a provider that will give you a linux hosting package (cPanel - old school but solid & reliable) on a cloud server with daily OFF SITE backups,… once you have that simply change the nameservers on your domain to match the nameservers of your hosting provider,… simple!
Install wordpress & get to work - there are thousands of free wordpress themes,… nearly all of them are rubbish though. Its worth paying for a professionally designed mobile responsive theme which you can use as a framework for your new website.

Also check out theme forest. I just redid my site with a new theme. If you use one of the ones you pay for they give you support on how to build their theme.

But - a good looking website means NOTHING - a website is only worth having if it generates income. My sites concentrate solely on organic SEO (Paid advertising is a whole other speciality) which takes a couple of months to gain momentum,… so, time will tell if function matches form!
