So I’m doing a big job on large glass panels that have metal bolts water streaks and smuge keep reappearing!! Any ideas??

Thats what the pic looks like… but I think I know what you are facing.
Wet just above the metal, and snake your way above, up the side, and finish as usual.
Do NOT slop water on it.
You will most certainly have a slight area to wipe with towel, but it will be more manageable if you dont slap water above it.
