Large/High Mirrors

As most or all of you do, we clean them all the time in homes. This past week though we ran into two monsters. One (not pictured) took 4 sections of my sectional to reach the top on my tippy toes.

Because we were already in the home it was a no brainer to upsell them as they needed the cleaning. My question to all of you is how much do you guys generally charge to clean large/high mirrors? We always hit the bathroom mirrors for free. I’m referring to large/high mirrors most generally in living rooms.

We have a customer that had us do her mirrors this last cleaning. I charged $8 for the one over the stairs. I already had my ladder out so it was a no brainer. Never done one as tall as you pictured. Sorry I couldn’t be more help.

Charge it like you would if it was a window.

$20 Just make sure you have clean water and clean water and a clean bucket on a belt. If you drip on the wall dab not wipe.

$3-$5 a mirror. In that case there was 3 sections of mirrors so $15…I upsell doing all the mirrors in the house not just a few, easy way to tack on an additional $15-$35 in no time.

Be wary of the hanging picture frame style, I did one for a customer the other day as a favor, in the middle of the wash they start telling me that it was their son’s anniversary gift to his first wife, bought it in Italy on their trip, real gold inlay, $3,000!

I’m not a big fan of trying to steady a hanging frame while washing anyway, and then to tell me it’s basically a priceless family heirloom, although apparently the second wife didn’t find it priceless:D

The one in the picture I charged $30 for. The other one I mentioned was the same width but about 8-10 feet higher, I went $40 on it.

I never charge for the mirrors in a home that are at eye level. We do those as a courtesy. However if the homeowner is a mirror freak that has more than usual I will charge them. If the home has two bathroom mirrors and two in separate bedrooms then 4 mirrors at eye level will only take 5 minutes to clean and it let’s the customer know I am willing to go that “extra mile” for their benefit.

Thanks for the replies, I appreciate them.

I’m always wary with mirrors - as most of the time the “priceless heirloom” is usually just hanging by cotton on a nail. I always point out to owners that I can’t be held responsible for the metal behind the glass turning rusty with water seepage & thus imparing the mirror.

Painter’s tape along edge, then wipe edges with microfiber, huck, or scrim.

I like Matt charge $3.00 to $5.00 a mirror and $10.00 plus depending on how big the mirror is. We do indoor light fixtures $5.00 per and outdoor lightfixtures $7.50 per. Mirrors and light fixtures are a great add on’s too any job

No thanks :stuck_out_tongue:

I do a huge mirror for a residentail customer along with in/ out windows ,chandeliers ,outside coach lites…for the mirror I have to use my 12’ a -frame ladder with a small pole, I charge $40.00
