Ledging

So I’m having trouble fining a 4" channel that I can use for ledges. Can someone point me in the right direction? (Also nearing the end of my budget so if the channel would work with my Ettore squeegee that would be great)

Cut one to size.

What do you mean? Cut the rubber down and put it in a larger channel and use that? I’m having trouble finding the actual channel that is the right size. I know I can cut the rubber

Cut a channel down to the size you want

Wouldn’t that mean I need access to saw sort of saw/power tools?

Get a hacksaw. A mini one will do the trick.

Money is not something I have a fruitful amount of right now lol. Is there not a squeegee or ledger that you guys use that you could recommend?

$5 hacksaw (its not like you will never use it again many guys cut channels to fit cut ups with 1 pull)
$7.34 ettore 10" cut it at 4" and you now have a 6" and a 4" channels
then the ledger handle which seem to range from $35-50
But then I don’t really see why you would need a ledger handle on a squeegee just cause your wiping ledges just get a cheap alloy, brass, steel or plastic handle from $6 bracket.

@Parker1751

Just like others have saidsaidjust just buy a cheapy hack saw and the cheapest 10" channel/squeegee handle you can find, you can get both at home depot or Lowe’s or ace hardware for less then $15 bucks.

If you can’t afford that right now just use a huck towel or even an old wash cloth to wipe the ledges until you can afford it.

Get two 18’s and cut one into 12 + 6 and you’re set fire storefront or residential with 18+12+6

Yeah, I can afford it or atleast i can right now. I have the cash for it but nearing the end of my funds so I have to keep gas, food and other expenses in mind so for right now im going to use towels to wipe down ledges. Thanks for the input. Also, you work for/own WCR right? Could you take a minute to answer this question- Questions about WCR product

Ok that is pretty darn smart. I might reconsider my choice now lol

No I don’t work for or own WCR.
I just love the forum and the WCR crew.

If you are going to buy a channel to cut, I would recommend in order:

  1. Aluminum - Easy to cut with any hacksaw
  2. Brass - not too hard but not as easy as Aluminum
  3. Stainless Steel - difficult to cut with a cheap hacksaw (at least that was my experience)

i think for right now I am going to use towels to wipe down sills. Just trying to make things as easy and as smooth as possible. I greatly appreciate that info though. I will keep it in mind for the future

Get pulex channels and cut them. I like stainless because they’re harder to warp if you drop them.

@JaredAI, what do you cut your stainless channels with? I have a hacksaw, but the blade does not bite into the steel. If you use a hacksaw, is there a certain type of blade that works bestr? Thanks!
