Has anyone ever dealt with Lucabond panels that are on some Honda and Volkswagon dealerships? I am just wondering what, if anything, will help with the oxidation. I have heard some window cleaners clean this when they clean the windows. Any help is much appreciated
If you are talking about the black streaks, the best thing I’ve found is bug & tar remover.
I spray it on a strip washer or rag to clean the streaks and then soap and squeegee.
I offer a monthly cleaning using just strip washer and soap and a pole (no squeegee). This keeps the streaks to a minimum, but once or twice a year I charge extra to use a ladder and clean them thoroughly with the tar remover.
Here are some before and after pic using just soap.
Kinda looks like a awning ?? Use only approved chem for awnings !! Tar and bug cleaner works but could come back to bite you !! They make chem for this and u should be cleaning & sealing the awing !! Also looks like it’s a back lite so lights should be cleaned too !! The white grid can be cleaned too !! The sealer should be from a solvent basis deal. This will bounce back all most like new. !!u can get a spring and fall maintance thing and can be cleaned from the ground !! I get buck a foot !! Hope this helps !! Check around u have a lot of awings in your area !! Yes u backed into a good deal if u know what to do.!! Call me if u want to know more. Stan , pro windo
Thanks for the info Stan, but these are Alucabond aluminum composite panels.
Yes I have cleaned these for years. I use wfp and feed chemical to brush and rinse. My dealership is next to Airport and very dirty. You mix Winsol deep clean as directed on bottle with water in backpack and prespay with wfp. Allow dwell time then brush and rinse with spotless water. If you need any help please feel free to call me. If you need a backpack or chemical visit my site and click on the WCR link at the bottom of the page
Yep !! Your right !! It’s the same concept but hard surface !! Same type of cleaning from the ground !! Some x a ladder but u know that’s slower!! A person has to be careful of chem as they make a clean spot that u can’t match !! Anyway a low pressure clean is in order and dwell time !! With any wind a person still has to clean the window behind it!! Do u do awnings ?? Stan, pro window kleening, 27 years
Did the idea of using a backpack and wfp help. Call me or pm if you need any help.
