Any1 ever deal w/ these?
We’ve been seeing more and more of them on sun porches here. We did one job w/ them by hand and I figured the next time I’d use a DI rinse on my easel to see about making it go quicker.
I think I have a post in here somewhere regarding my use of a hogshair brush, standard (GG4 for me) solution, and my screen cleaning workstation.
This is a brand new install and the home owner was advised to use only this particular spray which is mostly isopropyl alcohol. It was basicly the wipe on wipe of then buff out the smearing until you couldn’t feel your arm . Was not impressed w/ results of the spray cleaner/protectant. They have a large grill in here and I am willing to bet that when the grease from grilling gets on these it’s gonna so suck to remove from this vinyl. It seems quite durable though.
Yeah the spray is a joke.
If its the same as the poly-glass on motor boats then don’t use scrapers or if you do, use extreme caution. Don’t use any type of abrasive. Funnily enough, they react well to vinegar for hard water spots (as teaks decks are commonly cleaned this way). Perfect for wfp once they have had the trad treatment.
There is no way a razor could be used w/ this material. It’s glorified saran wrap. Speaking of not using anything abrasive, I think using paper towels to buff it would lightly scratch it. I sprayed the protectant/cleaner on used 2 diff huck towels to dry and buff. Still not impressed
We have a customer on the lake with those and we just used a mild solution of gg4 and then dried them with huck towels. Came out great, but we waaaaayy undercharged for them. I’m glad they sold the house and never called me back.
