This is after multiple cleaning attempts.
I feel so bad that you had this happen to such an important investment. Hopefully they reach out and can get this resolved!
Itās definitely from the adhesive, you can see that the edges of glass looks normal where the adhesive was not place . Also is this only happening on the south facing windows ? Maybe itās the sun is causing a reaction with the glue thatās on the adhesive? Have you tried goof off ?
We used Goof off, ammonia, bug and tar remover, Xylol in a small spot, razor blades. Nothing takes it out. If you mist the window the water goes around spots just like something is there preventing the flow. Canāt feel it, just see it. I have no idea if we should have this morning fogging on the windows. Seem odd that it only shows up on the areas that had the protective film. There is a clear border around all the windows. Iām sure these windows baked during the TN summer during construction. Marvin website says the protective film can stay on longer than we had it on. The rep asked for the etched numbers on the corners of the windows. Makes one suspicious they know something. Weāll see.
Next step up from scrubbing with abrasives and solvents, would be to polish the glass with an optical grade cerium oxide or similar micro-abrasive.
@Henry might have some input on the topic.
At any rate, youāre definitely venturing into glass restoration at this point, and Marvin should be held accountable for any costs associated with correcting the issue.
Just to be sure Iām not misleading you guys. The windows look that way when condensation is on them. The patterns can be reproduced when using a water mister. Still we think somethingās wrong when the dew starts on the windows and this is our view. Hereās during he daytime with no dew. Thanks for all the input.
Not sure if you read this post ? This might be helpful , looks like factory issue from Marvin
