Thats what I’m thinking, posted some pictures here. I think it’s mostly due to the ends of the clips being bulged on one side to pinch/secure it, rather like Ettore brass clips that surround the bottom of the rubber evenly - allowing it to rest centered in the channel along the entire length, to include the very ends.
