That happened to a house I used to rent in Piscataway. The operative word is rent… landlord’s problem, not mine lol

They did a show where they tried to set a ship on fire with mirrors like Archimedes supposedly did to roman ships in antiquity. They did make it smoke but not on fire and they had dozens of actual mirrors, all focused on the same spot.
They do make vinyl siding very cheap, this is the worse thing I have ever done. I did this with a string trimmer.
I saw that episode… I would imagine hot enough to get solid wood to smoke is more than enough to melt/disfigure plastic and vinyl…especially when it does so literally as long as possible, all day every day
I don’t think one window would equal 50 large mirrors focused on one spot. The Sun arcs arcoss the sky, the windows reflection would constanly be moving. Not saying this isn’t happening but it is the first time I’ve ever heard of it.
Valid point. First I’ve heard of it as well, admittedly.
