Hello fellas! I was hoping you guys could give me some feedback and critisizm (cant spell) on my website. Be brutal… http://www.ewindowwashing.com/
thank you all in advance.
Whats up with all the adds for other companies?
Looks good but the text box is too long for most, I would break it up a bit, people don’t wanna read all that at least on the home page. Use big text in short paragraphs to grab them. Then use a second page if you still wanna say everything that’s there.
I did that for content and optimization purposes, but I can tweak it a bit to put the important stuff within the area that people see first. What about the rest of the site, any suggestions?
Tory,
Very perfessional. Very structured. You offer a lot of information which is very nice. I am looking to build a similar website, can you offer any advice on who I might use to make a professional site like yours.
Thanks,
Scott Cline
Really nice website!
I’d love to see some pics of your truck or van set up. Especially how you keep and organize all your screen repair supplies.
There are so many different sizes and colors of frames, spline, latches, different types of rollers and handles around here that I feel like I’d need a separate truck or trailer to be able to offer screen repair on site. You must have quite a selection on board your vehicle to be able to do it all without having to pre-measure or pre-order supplies.
Yeah, actually…I absolutely HATE repairing screens and am sorry I put that on my site, I only offer this service for customers as an add-on. I get SO many people calling for 1 or 2 screens to repair, and even the large orders are so expensive people poop their pants when they see the quote.
You wanna see a great website, check out 5 star window cleaning, or Reach higher ground’s website…really clean.
The best way to make your site is by using Dreamweaver CS4 by Adobe. If you want to go the cheaper route, check out Xsitepro2. The problem with this program that they dont tell you and you find out after you buy it (like I found out) it says theres like a thousand templates…and its just not true. It is if you mix the different templates, but you really cant if you want it to look nice. The graphics on it are really hard to change out for something else…so unless you know how to do all that…
Best thing I can suggest, is go to the local college and go to the web development dept. and get one of those kids to make one for you. Let him know he can always use your site as a ref. for his resume…they got some really creative and smart kids out there, might as well see what the next generation has to offer right?
I appreciate the kudos, man. I really do enjoy making websites. In fact, Damian wanted a website that wasn’t as complex as [URL=“http://5starwindowcare.com/”]mine, and we worked out a deal for me to build it for him. I’m by no means the best in the world, but I am willing to offer my services for the next month (until our busy season starts) for anyone who is interested in having a website built and likes my style… Some people don’t, which I can totally respect.
I did Damian’s site for $1,200 to give you an idea on price and he supplied me with ideas on how he wanted it to look, feel, and all of his pictures and a good portion of the text. The part I enjoy doing is taking the vision and making it real on the page, laying it out so it’s easy to read, funneling people to your site via google (I optimize the initial site, and then the maintenance stuff you can do on your own or really kill it by using “thelegendofDoug”, Doug McDonald), in essence making it the last window cleaning site that people feel they have to visit. Making them comfortable that this is the real deal, experienced, professional, and feel the need to stop searching.
Since I feel like I’m pitching it right now, I think I’ll stop, but I do enjoy it and would be willing to do it for half of my window cleaning rate ($50/hr), $25/hr.
Thanks for the info Tory. Please keep us posted on your progress.

curt! Hey I saw your post and it reminded me that I never returned your phone call. I am interested in having a layout similar to yours!
Cash is tight right now though, I would be willing to trade for search engine optimization services, but I think you already have pretty good rankings, right?
I tried buzzing you on the phone today, but you are crazy busy to talk to. I ran pretty well, but I think we could arrange something. You know where to find me.
really? Your not the first person to say they called me and I didn’t answer, I don’t have any missed calls from you though. I hope this doesn’t happen to me a lot with customers too ya know?
For those people out there on a budget, I created my site using google sites.
The only cost involved was $10 for registering the domain name - have a look
at Home (BrightView Window Cleaning). . Maybe not as fancy as some, however using google sites you also get email, calendar and documents, so you can have your customer lists etc on their server. I am still working on the content however as I said it costs nowt.

Oops I suppose it was a little rude. I just wanted to let people know that there was a cheap alternative to spending loads of dosh on a website - I will post a new thread
Its not rude my man, I was only messing around…we do it all the time.
