Need some help bidding a big job

Hello fellow window cleaners!

I’ve only just started on my own ( formerly running with a franchise) and I’ve been asked to bid a set of units! It’s quite the exciting times but I was hoping to get some idea what you guys would price this sort of job?

External only and external + internal. ( Chances are it’s an outside only job for the reachable glass with WFP)

I’ll be driving out there a bit later today to get a better idea but these were the pictures I’ve been sent so far.

Thanks for your help and sharing bits of your wisdom!

This would be great to hear from our members in Europe. I know from my time in Ireland, the pricing will be dramatically different from the US.

600in and out 300 out only

Here’s a few photo’s that I took when I dropped by and also note that some of the screens can’t actually be removed since they’re bolted in. To be ignored are the windows inside past the verandahs/balcony since that is the tenants domain. It’s 2 small block of units at the front and 1 large double block of units at the back.

All up I can count 494 panes of glass all (Excluding the ones that have bolted screens)

Edit, 800 ext if wfp, in/ext 2k

Was that just for the 494 outside panes?

I would think somewhere around 1900 to 2000 out only. Ultimately, I think you take what you normally charge per window and multiply it out.
I am not big on discounting big jobs by more than 5 to 10 percent. Near the end, when you are pushing through being worn out, it sucks more.

Where are you located exactly? License plates on vehicles look European. Are you in Britain? The continent? That info will make a huge difference on the input. Do you want estimates in euro or sterling? Again - it makes a huge difference.

Damn good luck. Nice job to get

When they ask me if that’s my best bid I always tell them “No, it’s not my best bid. For $+% more you’d get my best work because I’d add a protectant to your windows, this is just to do a basic window cleaning.” I have had 2 home owners not realize that I also can add a protectant to their windows for an additional fee and upgrade. Most take it as sarcasm, but it’s gained me an extra $600 so far between those two houses so I’m not changing my reply.
