Neon sign .... Almost

Thank god only one wire popped at one time . Other wise that sign was a goner
It’s been a long time since I broke one .
Like to keep it that way. Last job of the day also. That would of sucked.

Nothing like a nice “close one” to wake you up like no coffee will ever do, huh?!?

Glad to hear it was an “Almost” and not an “aw shit”

I remember a few years ago @Chris had a neon sign damage form/report for All County. They musta broke a bunch of 'em.

I was never so glad as when the HUGE neon Arby’s sign burned out and my customer took it down permanently :+1:

OMG constantly. Flip the switch they break. Turn them off and they don’t turn back on. Never ending problems.

I use a few of those rubber coated bendy oversized twist tie things to hold large neon signs away from the glass while I do interior glass.

Smaller ‘open’ signs haven’t been a problem apart from one occasion when the chain popped off of the hook and had to catch the thing.

I never turn them off and never let my scrubber touch the neon tubes.

Luckily, I used to make neon/argon signs, so I can make them if needed. Just need to find a place where I can bombard the glass.

Also, the blue tubes are typically argon, which requires mercury to bring out the blue color, so be super cognizant of your actions when working with the blue ‘neon’ lighting if it breaks.

TOTALLY off topic, but that picture just calls to me!

For some reason, I just can NOT pass up an Arby’s.
(I think there is Crack in the sauce) :expressionless:

I guess that’s why they call it sweet n smokey

Twice as sweet as sugar twice as bitter as salt
If you get hooked baby it’s nobody else’s fault. So don’t do it Rah.

I used to love Arby’s. But then I did a one off clean on a local one and I was like “what is that smell??” so I stayed away. Then I talked to the guys who did the equipment maintenance and they were like “You don’t even want to know what we find there.” So yeah, since then, I’ve stayed away.

Meanwhile in china… now that’s addictive.
