They’ve got to use someone. That is a fact. Generally, it will be the lowest price from someone they deem qualified.
I dealt with them for maybe 7 or 8 years total, can’t remember. As long as you accept what they offer and adhere to their procedures, you’ll maybe hold on to their offerings. Unless you have them between a rock and a hard place, you’ll get horribly compensated, it will take all of 51-60 days to pay, if not longer. They will promise a lot and pose as your ally, but have no problem dropping you if someone better for them becomes available. They’ll also ask you to do footwork to aid them in pricing bids. Someone correct me if things have changed.
Needless to say, I have less than little use for NEST.

Not sure I would work with that outfit. I work with me, myself, and I.

Thanks Mike and Dan. I had never heard of them before today when they called. The way I understand it they are nation wide and bid on commercial and retail cleaning for national chains. They told me about the long wait for payment which sent up a warning signal. I will not be doing business with them. That’s why I love this site if you don’t know someone does. Thanks again.

I would love to snatched up the work they want me to do so I am wondering if I contact the stores would they let me work for them not nest. The thing I have going for me is I am the only game in town that advertises on the Internet so I think they may have alot of trouble finding someone. Thoughts?

I highly doubt you can privately deal with a chain store that is already supposed to be serviced under a contract. If you stick to YOUR price and are willing to wait 2 months or more maybe try it out. If so, I would encourage you not to rest too much hope on NEST being a long-term source of good profits.

The problem with FMC’s (facility maintenance contractors) is that you have to follow their procedures to the letter or they will deny payment. Oh, and they take forever to pay.

If you’re the only game in town, go hit up the janitorial companies. If one of them is doing work for FMC’s you could subcontract with the janitorial company and get paid by them. You’ll get paid quicker and avoid the headaches of FMC.

Contacting the store directly will more likely than not be useless as they use companies like NEST so they don’t have to do any of the work associated with contractors. They deal with the one contractor instead of the window cleaner, carpet cleaner, janitorial company… So on and so forth.

If you wanna build a route around what NEST has to “offer” you then hey try it out but don’t go in with high expectations about it.

You could never build a route around companies like nest. If you do get some accounts threw these piss ants. You need to treat it like what it is low paying temp work that doesn’t get paid fast. you will need to short cut it some how. There are ways not going to spill how it’s done .

I don’t do work for nest I do do a job for avid floor maintenance they are by far a great company to deal with, they called me ask me what I wanted for the job accepted my price , an pay on time all the time.

I’ve seen all the NSP work orders an procedures from my past working for guys.

Middle men.

I didn’t mean use NEST contracts to build a route, I meant use the accounts you would get from them as a starting point to get into a new area and build the route around that contract so the stop would in turn become profitable.

Again I work for, me, myself and I. Why work for a someone that’s tells me they can give me work when I can work for myself a get all the work I want?

My experience with NEST and other National Service Providers like them is not good. They constantly try to beat you down to an insultingly low fee that, if you choose to work for it, will make you little more than an underpaid (if you actually get paid) employee. When they keep their promise regarding payment, you will wait 6-7 weeks to get paid. My experience was that it often took 60-75 days, and several broken promises to get my money. But if I was even 1 day late with a work order, they were all over me.

More than once, they played games with the proof-of-insurance requirements. I would meet the requirements of one phone rep, who would promise me that the check would be sent that day. Then 3 weeks later, when I still hadn’t been paid, a different phone rep would tell me that I hadn’t met the insurance requirements.

Their contract was worded to state that they did not owe you any money for your work until the client paid them. When Goody’s went bankrupt, NEST owed me $120 for work at Goody’s. They told me that since Goody’s went bankrupt, NEST did not owe me for the work that I did at Goody’s for NEST.

In about 2008 I fired NEST and Tower Cleaning, a similar company. I don’t regret that decision one bit.

Don’t walk away from NEST and companies like them. RUN! They are parasites on our industry.

Tony thank you your first hand experience has made up my mind I will not lower my self so nest can make money off me. I had never heard of nest before they called me so thats why I asked if anybody had experience with them and I recieved great feedback from the people I respect the most. Thank you for the insight and preventing me from making a big mistake. This is why I love this site.
