Nest International?

I’m way to off on that one ? is net 30

Don,t know what that means Carlos
Your $80-90 sounds about right for 2x45min
Should be faster in future so $50 odd going forward
I never heard of them

I was asking if I was too off about pricing … sorry about the confusion .

Net 30 = payment made 30 days after receipt of invoice.

No. It does not.

Net 30 means there is a discount for paying before the end of a 30 day cycle.

Due by 30 means you have no longer than 30 to pay without a fee.

Often the discount (net 30) is 1-3 % and is ONLY used for product.

If YOU inlclude that term on YOUR invoice, you expose yourself to a discount…or worse, longer pay cycles.

Did jobs for them which was great but hey took forever to pay .

Wouldn’t a discount be stated as “3%, Net 30”?

How long ago was that ?
If you don’t mind sharing, what kind of stores you did for them ?
you can PM if you want to

thanks
Carlos

NEST is about as Mickey Mouse as there is. Nobody there knows what the other is doing. I’m thinking about being done with them after years of their nickel and dime tactics.
They wanted to pay me $13/$25 for a Sleepy’s that I bid $80/$160 for.
They also often expect you to do the work of measuring the width of a prospective account, giving no consideration to height, 2nd, 3rd levels, obstacles.
If you’re fortunate to be in an area where they’re desperate, fine. But I’m in an area like Steve of Kentucky where they are not.

be carefull Carlos. You do not get to charge them…They tell you what they will pay…Usually…

Talk to the guy yesterday and told him that the store is due for service again, which means that 30 days has gone by already, and I won’t be doing another cleaning without receiving payment for the 1st one. He said that he’ll check before that must be processed and sent already, but he apologize and told me about the time off for Holidays and stuff. I was firm, i told him that I understand what he’s saying but I’ve never dealt with them and don’t know what to expect, I can risk one cleaning to show that I’m willing to to the job, but my part was done in a timely manner, so the ball is in their court now. He was going to check payment status and call me … no news 24hrs later.

The word ‘net’ means after gross. Gross is what you’d charge before net.

net 30 means a discount is applied or what ever has not yet been paid is due.

That is what it means …not how it is used today by business owners who use the term because they heard the term used somewhere else.

It is used as a misnomer by service providers. Wrongly so.

The concpet was to allow the credited (purchaser) to use their own money and save interest by paying on time.

“Hey, if you pay me in, say, 29 days or less, I will give you a 2% discount every time.
If you wait until 30 days, pay the full amount. After 31 days, I am charging your butt interest. I aint a freaking bank.”

Net 30.

Imagine what the accounting department thinks when someone send them a invoice with the words: Net 30.

The accountant, who went to school and knows the term, looks around for the discounted rate. What does he/she think when no discount is found?

Way off topic here (sorry Matt) but there are several terms/phrases used wrongly.

‘infer’ is often used where ‘imply’ should have been. Or vise versa.

Example: “What are YOU inferring?” Wrong. I can only infer when I am receiving the info. Anyone can imply. Only I can infer.

Wet vs Whet.

the appetite is ‘whet’.
the whistle is ‘wet’.

Found this online:

Net 30 is a form of trade credit which specifies payment is expected to be received in full 30 days after the goods are delivered. Net 30 terms are often coupled with a credit for early payment; e.g. the notation “2% 10, net 30” indicates that a 2% discount is provided if payment is received within 10 days of the delivery of goods, and that full payment is expected within 30 days. For example, if “$1000 2/10 net 30” is written on a bill, the buyer can take a 2% discount ($1000 x .02 = $20) and make a payment of $980 within 10 days. Many home-based businesses receive payment in this manner.

Net 30 is a term that almost every municipality uses (Federal, State and local). The true meaning of the term Net 30 is unclear and is still debated. Legally speaking Net 30 means that buyer will pay seller in full on or before the 30th calendar day (including weekends and holidays). This is usually not what people debate about. The debate is when the 30-day clock starts. It is considered that Net 30 does not start until the Goods and/or Services have been provided along with any documents and/or invoice(s) have been received and verified.

oh gosh…

Yeah, I found opposing views on the global warming thing, Bush, Obama etc.

I found my term in college. From a teacher, out of an accounting book, used for teaching these terms. We spent about a week on it.

I was stoned during that time though so it is possible I am wrong.

it could have been the Greatful Dead teaching the course.

I met a guy last week riding his bike, he was dirty, and drunk…and walked into a local store and asked for a book of matches.

he said he was a pilot. The terms we use in public do affect how we are seen.

I never knew the guy was a pilot.

It was a soap joke anyway.

I found my term while working as a metals scrap buyer/seller and trader for over fifteen years.

Oh, and it’s GG4 for me.

were you a pilot?

I did ride a bike, if that’s what you mean.

My icon button is not working. Insert the big green smiley face here.

It was what I meant.
