Saw a discussion about wagtails and got me thinking to make mine a bit lighter. Used the combi this time instead of the slim line. I was able to trim about a half inch off the pad and only use half the brass rod for the hinge.
O and I cut the pad around the swivel so it wouldnt hinder the movement. Think this one will be the ticket!
Nice - how do you like it? Video yet?
Is it dogeared?
I like it. Not as nice for closing out on deep sills but over all lighter and a more sturdy tool. No video … ive been swamped. Will be making a video soon all the modified wagtails that ive made the pros and cons of each .
no not dogeard
I just ordered a wagtail pc from wcr. Can’t wait to try it out.
@Streakerfree this is a easy mod to keep the pad on the combi. I feel your pain on those velcro strips. This is pretty much the same model I do on my slimline. On this one I drilled 4 holes in the channel then stitched in 2 brass bars into the washer sleeve. Then attached the sleeve with zip ties.
That’s a great mod. When things slow down I’ll try this out. My biggest gripe with wagtails is the handle angle. I’ll add to the mod list using my heatgun to change to the angle. Any chance @Chris or @Alex wagtail angle arm will be in stock? Seems like it has been out of stock for a long time. Once again this leads me to waiting on the excelorator.
