New employment protection act

NEW LAW COMING FROM CONGRESS – AMERICANS WITH NO ABILITIES ACT

WASHINGTON, DC - Congress is considering sweeping legislation,
which provides new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No
Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislation by
advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or
ambition.

“Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and
drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in
society,” said Barbara Boxer. “We can no longer stand by and allow
People of Inability to be ridiculed and passed over. With this
legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to
a small group of workers, simply because they do a better job, or have
some idea of what they are doing.”

The President pointed to the success of the US Postal Service, which
has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to
performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack job
skills, making this agency the single largest US employer of Persons of
Inability.

Private sector industries with good records of nondiscrimination
against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry
(68%),and home improvement “warehouse” stores (65%). The DMV also has a
great record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%). Another notable example
of an entity with a positive record of Persons of Inablity, is the U. S.
Congress (59%).

Under the Americans With No Abilities Act, more than 25 million “middle
man” positions will be created, with important-sounding titles but
little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose
and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given, to
guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The
legislation provides substantial tax breaks to corporations which
maintain a significant level of Persons of Inability in middle
positions, and gives a tax credit to small and medium businesses that
agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNA ACT contains tough new measures to make it more
difficult to discriminate against the Nonabled, banning discriminatory
interview questions such as “Do you have any goals for the future?” or
"Do you have any skills or experience which relate to this job?"

“As a Nonabled person, I can’t be expected to keep up with people who
have something going for them,” said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her
position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint, MI due to her
lack of notable job skills. “This new law should really help people like
me.” With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other
untalented citizens can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Pelosi, “It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each
and every American citizen, regardless of his or her adequacy, with some
sort of space to take up in this great nation.”

that is great! Someone needs to stand up for the incompetent

Is this serious? Really… This completely goes against the laws of nature. If someone was too dumb/lazy to hunt and survive in the wild they would have died thus eliminating the DUMB/LAZY gene from that area of society. Now we keep the dumb/lazy alive and help them out so they can reproduce more dumb and lazy people. I don’t think MAJORITY of these people are even incompetent or dumb they are just lazy and see the benefit of doing nothing and letting others tax dollars keep them alive. For the ones that are really mentally ill I can understand helping. But 50% of Americans!! Get out of here.

Whomever passed this bill is part of the dumb group!

Haha! That’s great! Gotta protect the elected officials. That’s what it’s really about, right?

::across the nation, thousands of bucket bobs sigh with relief::

Remember to pour some out for our dead homie, RIP Merv.

This space for rent!

Forgive me, I tried not replying to this many times in the last few days since it’s been reposted, but I gotta’ just get it out…
After reading this I got angry at how stupid the government is, but then I realized this post is from 2011… so if the lawmakers were serious about passing it it should have been done by now. But then again, since they only work like 50 days out of the whole year, it’ll be 10 years before they get around to voting on it anyway, right?

  1. “Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack job skills, making this agency the single largest US employer of Persons of
Inability.” — I highly doubt this figure. I have lots of friends who work for the post office and they are all extremely smart, skilled people.
  2. “Another notable example of an entity with a positive record of Persons of Inablity, is the U. S. Congress (59%).” — No surprise there, but 59%? It’s more like 99%!
    3. “With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they do a better job, or have some idea of what they are doing.” — Since when is a job a ‘special favor’? I think there’s a lot of jobs where more harm than good will result to society because of hiring a person without “any real skills or ambition”. Any job like window cleaning where climbing ladders is all but a necessity for instance.
    4. “Mandatory non-performance based raises and promotions.” — Really, who in the world thinks this is a good idea? What’s to motivate someone to try hard and do a good job?
    That’s it (my $0.02) … I feel better

Pretty sure it was a joke…
