Hey everyone, looking for some advice.
we just picked up our first company van, a Ford Transit 250 mid-roof.
Our main focus right now is shelving. We’re trying to set it up in a way that’s budget friendly, organized and efficient for a 3-person crew.
If you’ve set up a similar van or worked out of one I’d love to hear:
-
Shelving setups that work well
-
Materials or layouts you’d recommend (or avoid)
-
Anything you wish you’d done differently from the start
Appreciate any insight you’re willing to share! Thanks in advance.
I don’t have a van, but I think Vantech makes some good stuff. I’ve used their ladder racks on a couple of my cars.
and of course there’s always the diy/homebuilt option. Which is what I did for the shelving in the back of my access cab Tacoma.
as for layout, I like to utilize “first order retrievability” (as Adam Savage calls it). Essentially, you want to eliminate steps required to access tools wherever possible. Open shelves opposed to drawers when feasible. Avoid having things stacked on top of each other that need to be put back. That kind of thing.
