New WSIB Rule! Please read!

:):)I was audited today. All is well. My books are in the bst shape they’ve ever been. It was what the auditor said and did that freaked me out. I have never had a positive thing happen when dealing with anyone from the WSIB. Today was an exception. They have made a rule that if you are a small operation and predominantly work from the ground, they might eliminate the hirise rate group for you entirely - everything would be calculated as ground level. Let me repeat that. You will no longer be paying almost 16% on payroll, but rather the 3.6% ground level alone. The change can be retroactive to Jan 1 2009. I received a credit of $1100 for the payments already made.
Call your rep. Wait until they call you back. Hope you haven’t held yor breath… ask for (I think) the Small Operation Rule. I may have the name wong, but if they can’t find it, call me.
You’re welcome, if you hadn’t heard about this until now.

Hey John,
Sorry I didn’t get back to you, I listened to your message late in the day.
I am curious as to why this information was only revealed to you through an audit. WSIB would be able to tell the size of your operation through your previous wsib payment amounts, wouldn’t they?
Anyway, I guess I should be calling my rep on Tuesday to inquire about my refund.
I hope there isn’t a catch somewhere here.

No catch. Be prepared to show that you primarily work from the ground and that you don’t have more than $300k in payroll. It sounded as simple as that. No guarantees, though. And if it goes horribly wrong, we don’t know eachother
