Is it true that newspapers are good to clean glass with? Wouldn’t the ink eventually get into the microscopic pores?
I have tried everything. Before using squeegee and WFP I used spray and paper towels. As I began doing more windows, I used the flour sack towels that you get from Walmart. They were just not working and not getting the water up or drying good. Used every paper towel out there. Nothing worked. Started using the huck towels. Night and day difference. Now using Unger microfiber or huck with a spritz of deionized water and a bit of denatured alcohol. Works on door fingerprints. All these cleaners were leaving a residue. After a while the residue built up and had to change solutions as well as the towel because it just would not come clean. I tried newspaper. The ink just adds to the smear plus my cloths were getting mucked by the ink. It really isn’t the newspaper but the paper itself. Best to find a good window towel. The least amount of stuff put onto the glass the better. Paper towels come in handy for a quick wipe but if you can try to get the scraps from your local press. They often have trim from the paper rolls. Might be able to buy some or even get for free. Worth a shot. I have a few clients stuck on the vinegar and newspaper thing. Maybe back in the day when glass was glass but now…
BTW, nice county. Family from the area Poughkeepsie Wappinger falls. Great Grandma use to clean Roosevelt Mansion. If she were alive, I could have ashed her what she used.
Yes news paper is GREAT to clean windows with… If ya don’t have a squeegee.
Years ago they used a different ink that would leech out onto your hands, but that has changed.
Would i do a house with newspaper?? NOT A CHANCE.
Would i clean a mirror with spray way and news paper??

And Sure did.
I JUST cleaned my bathroom mirror this way.
