I needed to use my Ninja on some skylights today so I came up w/ a way to make it a zero degree squeegee.
Here’s a couple pics and video to follow.
That’s a good idea but it looks like a broken arm
Here’s the video
Alot of skylights have deep sills. How does that work on a really deep sill? It doesnt look like it is going to finish properly. Until Mark has a zero degree to go, wouldnt it just be faster to use a contour handle that you pimp like crazy to actually do what it was meant to do without all the extra crap on your pole? I dont think the amount of torque and all those moving parts would be effective as a contour handle. I dont think it would be a time saver either since you would already have it since you saw them when you were bidding the job. Your thoughts?
The wag tail angle arm is a highly versatile tool, it comes in handy in many situations…Just like Tony I carry one with me all the time, I love it when I need it !
Dange
The offset really comes into play here, Jake. It allows me to close out even better than just using the Contour at zero degrees. I have done those skylights before and originally I was going to use one of my Contours but then remembered I had the Wagtail angle arm so I figured I’d give it a try. Worked great.
ok i will try it and see
Initially I was with one fat joker on this. The wide channel Ettore contour handle would take care of this (if it got over the end clips? -Anyone). Not having any Ninjas I can’t really compare.
The best tool for inside skylight work is the zero degree swivel loc. It has no angle in the head - the standard 30 degree angle in most squeegees prevents work at difficult angles - like overhead windows. The zero degree swivel loc is meant to work on an Unger pole and allows you to have complete control over the movement of the squeegee. Check out the video link from you tube - I made a few years ago that shows how to use it YouTube - J.Racenstein Co: Unger Swivel Loc Squeegees I also found another video that shows it well. Many window cleaners dont know we make a zero swivel squeegee - it is a must for pole work. WOrking over head // over deep ledges // odd shaped glass and at a distance are all made easy with this tool.
Hey Mark. That’s my video there. glad you liked it!
I’ve seen both those videos Mark but I prefer wide body channels so I still need the Ninja to be available w/ a zero degree handle. The Wagtail gives me the next best thing but it’s not a perfect solution.
im sure if you took a ninja along to a craftsman who has a plastic welder machine,it could be made to be 0 degree
Any plans on making the Ninja a combined 0º in the future Mark? We already have a bagful of tools, it would be nice to combine the usefulness of each one. My old 0º needed end clips, I don’t know if this has been changed?
What about Mark Strange’s clipless modification to the Unger 0º? I’ve got one in the works on the workbench somewhere… Check out his video.
But, I agree – a Ninja 0º would be great.
