Hello, Im 19 and in my first semester of college. I also recently enlisted into the National Guard. Im thinking of starting a part time window cleaning business to support myself while in college and may or may not continue after college. After I get back from Basic and AIT I plan to attend Kent State for Entrepreneurship. Then some type of law enforcement and eventually I would like to open my own gun shop and shooting range and also provide training classes. But back to what Im here for…Heres my dilemma, I would like to buy equipment and begin practicing on my parents and neighbors house (I have no experience) but I am stuck on if its a good idea to:
A) Start a business like this in the winter?
-The weather will not bother me. I’m a hardworker, self-motivated and determined
B) Start now when I will be leaving in June for Basic training and AIT until about November-ish?
-Also how would I get customers back when I come back if I start now?
I plan on only doing residential as of right now. As I said earlier I only plan to do this part time so I dont want to be real busy. Any and all suggestions are greatly appreciated and am looking forward to learn much from this site!
I am near Cleveland Hopkins airport. If you don’t like what the weather is doing now wait five minutes and it wil change.
Welcome and good luck with your plans.
Dale.
The secret is to “just do it” window washing is portable, you can do it anywhere. “Just do it” if you need to take time for the guard window washing will be there when you come back, and if you are just doing residential window washing, mostly they will never know you were gone since I’ve personally never seen a residence that wanted window washing done on a weekly or monthly basis unless they had a full time staff on hand to do it.
Thank you to all for the help. And thank you de.fuller for helping me out and showing me some basic skills and techniques. I just purchased some more equipment from here and am waiting to get it in the mail.
Also, I got my first call for gutter cleaning today
