I’m new to the whole website thing. Since I set up google analytics I’m obsessed with it. I check it everyday. Am I the only one?
You do when you first install. I check once a week or so now
I did for about the first year and a half.
Don’t go crazy over it because GA will haunt your dreams and consume your soul like Freddy Krueger.
For real, once every two weeks at the most. When you’re spending time improving your site rather than monitoring every move you will find that your rankings fall into place over the course of a few months to a year or two.
Don’t force it, you’ll go bonkers.
I was obsessed until I realized you cant find out anything about the person. You can see what site they got to your site from and what page where they left from as far as metrics are concerned. You can see how many ppl use different types of words or phrases. But being able to contact a client who left your site, no. Unless you can hack IP’s. Its a great tool to see what states ppl view from down to the city. Now all I use is the analytics from my Facebook Fan Page. But I have learned that analytics rise and fall, that is about it.
