Anyone ever use one restore on concrete? Any time I’ve tested a small spot it always discolors the concrete, called ecochem and they were clueless.
I’ve noticed that as well. I used it on some rust stains and the discoloration looked a lot better than the rust

Larry,
The other week I literally did the same thing, lady had a ton of rust on the driveway and although it cleaned it up decently, it left its own marking. Strange, will not be using on concrete anymore, anyone have other suggestions as to what chems will remove rust and other stains comparably?
I’ve heard oxalic acid for rust stains

Aka F-8 from Pressure Tek. Haven’t used it myself.
One Restore works great on glass and other things but for major rust and iron stains I use F9.
F9 - BARC, only product U need to carry w/ you!

F9 won’t discolor the concrete? I used some other rust remover yesterday, while it removed the stains, it also cleaned the concrete a little too good.
When used as directed, you shouldn’t have problems. Most concrete rust removers with HCL, ox or whatever they use are made way too strong and can easily discolor and etch the concrete. F9 is made to both remove the stain and give whatever it is used on a natural look without over cleaning it. This is an important aspect of restoration that new guys don’t realize. A product may remove a stain, but what it the final result? Is it etched? Discolored? White? Is there a residual amorphous paste layer? …etc.
Basic areas of concern for discoloration are when we have pavers or concrete that has an iron oxide pigment. This is only a concern if the paver or concrete is not up to spec, not fired right, is weak, hydrated too quickly… is basically compromised in some way. Even then though, you can get by with at least one application of F9, and this should be enough to make our customer happy.
We have 3 general dilution ratios depending on what kind of surface to be applied to and you can always call me or text a picture if you’re not sure. The #1 rule is always to test!
The product page where you can find dilution ratios and spraying rates on the Best Rust Remover can be found HERE.
I use One Restore it is an awesome product that can be used for many different applications. Rust removal is not one of them. They claim it removes rust but it just lightens rust. When it comes to rust there is only 3 products I use F9, Super Iron Out, and Oxalic acid.
One restore is great for brick cleaning, removing date palm stains from pavers, or restoring strange stains that are hard to remove from concrete. But you can not spot clean with One Restore. You have to hit the entire pad. Spray evenly and don’t let it dwell for too long or it will etch the concrete.
How come you didn’t use oxalic acid with warm water instead? It’s alot cheaper man and no discoloration.
