OSHA training

So I was listing to Josh Latimers podcast the other day and I heard him talk about a required training by OSHA. Do you guys know about this? If it is required I would like to stay safe. Never know where these individuals that work for them are. Prefer not to get a fine. Trying to stay safe and legitimate.

Only is required you have employees.

Does it cost money?

Everything costs money. It’s a business expense, part of your overheads, and part of the “deal” that comes with having employees.

It’s not necessarily training by OSHA.

As an employer you as are required to provide a safe work environment. Part of this is training, providing the documentation of who the competent person is that trained on what equipment and procedures is required.

There is a past thread that covered this in detail

If you get OSHA 500, you can teach OSHA 10. I have Both 10 & 30.

I understand that everything costs money. But being a fireman we are regulated by OSHA and the required training by them is online and free. Heck you can take the same command course we have to have from them just from your computer. So is the OSHA class like that or does it cost money.

Doing the training for yourself, you can find the info for free with OSHA. Though as a SP you probably will never see OSHA. OSHA cares about employee safety, not owner safety.

Doing it as an employer, you are better off buying training materials and tests for legal reasons.
