Hi guys I was bummed that I missed out on the 50% discount for the new system a few months ago, but then again I just got into window cleaning so I wasnt aware back then.
I got a porta cable orbital polisher a couple of years ago, never used it though, I had planned on using it to polish my car. I think it can do glass too cause it orbits and it has variable speed. does anyone know if this tool can be used on windows?
I was wondering if I can purchase the glassrenu kit in pieces, just the pads, heat sensor and plolishing chemicals. is that possible? or do we have to purchase in whole??
This is a VERY common question that we receive and one that I don’t think has been addressed on this forum, so thanks to dhwc to asking.
The quick answer is no, the long answer is no, but with an explanation:
First, about the sander polisher you have. Porter Cable makes a great tool, hands down. I have used some of their power tools and love them all. That being said, an orbital sander, while amazing on wood, will chew up glass without grinding it. We have tried every single random orbital we can get our hands on, and without fail they all screw up the glass.
Second, the answer to the VERY common question of “Can I purchase the glassrenu kit in pieces?”. This too is a no, and the why is to protect you. When we founded GlassRenu there were a couple of major issues the founding members felt very strong about, one of which was that we sell a complete system that worked EVERY TIME. The fact that there have been other “scratch removal” tools on the market for the past 25 years, and yet none of them are able to remove any and all damage is what drove this decision. We want our users to know that when they purchase our system they have everything they need to remove any damage and that the kit they open up is the same as the thousands of others that are used everyday around the world. By doing this it allows us to know what you have, what you don’t and to guarantee things like distortion free operation, as well as offer our performance guarantee. We sell tools that are part of a process, any one or two of the items not used within the framework of our process will do nothing more than screw up the glass.
We understand that when many look at the price they wonder if the system will work, or if it is just another system that won’t work for them. For that reason we do offer our performance guarantee, simply stating that if the system doesn’t work like we say it will, or if it can’t get the job done to what we say it will we put our money where our mouth is. In the 4+ years we have been in business we have only had 1 system ever returned, so our success rate is 99.999% world wide.
Hope this answers your questions, and if not please feel free to post them here or give Alex at WCR a call. If you still have questions that you can’t get answers to call GlassRenu at 888-769-0001 and ask for Cody.
ok Cody, if you dont sell it in pieces…can I give you $300 for all the contents in side the box and you can keep the $1700 dollar box???
lol, I understand that u are running a business and the high price helps shield away homeowners and DIYers, thus we can have a tool that no one else has and charge more for our service…
Im just bummed that I wasnt aware of the 50% discount you had lastyear, I would buy the kit right now if it was 50% off. but for 2k im going to have to sub it out.
If you could purchase a brand new V6 Honda Accord sedan for $2,000, it would be considered a low price, eh?
Perhaps the price to purchase a GlassRenu has absolutely nothing to do with shielding the purchase from someone other than a glass restoration professional.
so I am left to assume that the following items make up
the remainder $1900.00
15 glassrenu disks and pads
big black box
I come from a marketing background and the product presentation of the kit was really lame.
The only thing genius about the marketing of this kit is the big black box,
not because they say it is water resistent and you can drop it from a 2nd story bldg
no those are seriously the two dumbest reasons to make a selling point on the kit.
construction workers carry around far more expensive tools and bang them around way more then
a measely window washer ever will and they transport their tools around
in buckets and duffel bags.
The only plus about the box is that you roll it into the customers home and he
drops his jaw at the sheer size and professional appearance of the thing. In his
mind he is thinking “what ever is in that box must be pretty dang expensive”.
BINGO, thats why Im going to charge your A** $200 an hour.
I agree that it takes money to make money, I recently purchased a $4000 sewer camera for my plumbing
company. It was a rigid camera with a 100 foot micro reel, both devices probably cost less then $1000 to
manufacture but it is made directly from ridgid with their logo on it, I am a proud owner of this device. I would feel ripped off if
ridgid purchased the camera and reel from makita for $1k and then packaged it in a “ruggedized, built to take punishment” ridgid box for $4000.
I do not disagree that the system will make its money back 100 times over. And give credit to glassrenu for doing all the research and engineering to create the “New” disks. I will get a kit eventually.
You aren’t buying just the pieces you list. The customer support and a complete system that someone has spent a lot of time testing and developing to make sure it would work under every situation. They are entitled to make money for that in the same way that we make money for cleaning windows. If you break down the cost of equipment a homeowner could spend a lot less on cleaning by buying their own squeegees, etc. Of course part of what they are paying us for is the time and effort we have spent developing our business.
