Pain Arms Wrists Hands Shoulders?

Regarding the uses of squeegees, scrubbers.</SPAN>

After a while your arms hands wrists shoulders etc.</SPAN>

Start getting pains. </SPAN>

Some people believe weight is the issue.</SPAN>

Then they ether get a lighter squeegee or reduce the size of there squeegee channel.</SPAN>

Do you think that there are any other things that can be done solve this problem?</SPAN>

Have a look how a squeegee handle is held in your hand.</SPAN>

Does it feel right?</SPAN>

Any input would be good.</SPAN>

As far as the squeegee goes, try to use less pressure. Lean the squeegee against the glass and simply use your hand as a guide for direction. No need to push against the glass in most cases. Also, make sure you are using a fresh, sharp rubber.

Definitely stretching, using good soap or super-slip, fresh rubber pieces, and being careful can all help prolong the lifespan of a window cleaner.

Herman,

All of the above mentioned and then some. Last week Jared posted a thread in which the discussion turned to the same topic as yours. After doing some cross-referencing, I bought some Triple Strength Osteo-Bi Flex. The 3 key ingredients of Glucosamine, Choindroitin, and Hyalurounic Acid work together to re-build joints, cartilidge, and general lubricants. At 43 years old, I had 95% less pain in less than 36 hours. I’m no doctor, just know what has workedd for me this past week

Cleaning windows 9-10 hours a day, 5-6 days a week use to take its toll on my wrist and shoulder. Particularly in the busy season. Last year, I started to alternate hands throughout the day to ease the workload on my left wrist, arm. It took a day or two to feel totally comfortable using my right hand, but it’s proven to be a great technique and has greatly eased the soreness I would feel in my left shoulder.

Have you tried a wagtail? Perrys Window Cleaning has a youtube video on using it with an angle adapter on a pole. So does Unger, except not with a wagtail obviously. It will cut down on the wrist action needed to fan, with or without the pole. Check it out. Probably a google search will find it.

Do you think if the handle on your squeegees or scrubbers.</SPAN>

Were made wider/thicker at the end squeegee/scrubber T-Bar side?</SPAN>

This will allow you to hold your squeegee more naturally in your hand?</SPAN>

Also gives you more leverage when using longer squeegees.</SPAN>

This is part of the solution all of the above.</SPAN>

Believe the other part is having handles you can hold easily.</SPAN>

To allow you to move your wrists hands arms shoulders in a more natural movements. </SPAN>

Example: You try walking with your feet turned inwards or outwards.</SPAN>

Of cause you are going to have pain in your legs after a while.</SPAN>

If you done this sucked it up (the pain) over long time span you would be in bad shape. </SPAN>

Same would go when using your squeegee.</SPAN>

its important to understand the negative side of what window cleaning can do and get it right before. or at least attempt to prevent what can come at the start …if you dont try and clean smart most end up with side effects at some period of time later in life…

The Turmeric Formula form Organic India was like a bolt out the sky for me as well. Upon recommendation here I tried it with the above ingredients that I was already taking. Keep in mind not everything works the same for everyone.

Couldn’t agree with you more, Dale. Not everyone’s body chemistry is the same.

if your area can stand it,i recommend you have a marketing blitz ,expand past what you yourself can possibly do alone ,which in turn will force you to take on a worker/s . Since i did that my body has been ok, yes im still on the squeegee but the load is shared and if im aching somebod else can push themselves harder until i recover. i currently have 3 parttimers on board and everybodys laughing at the end of the day (generally!)

By the way, I got the Satin Hands from Brandy. The box it came in said that I was gorgeous and now I feel so pretty.

ROFLMAO!! I can just picture you pointing at a mirror and declaring “Dawling, You look MAWVELLOUS!!”

Ha HA Hee Hee!

Are you busting out a new line of gear? I have thought about handles. Something with a flat side? Like a Wii remote. People can use that all day. I guess it comes down to rest. Were not made to fo the same thing over and over, day in and day out. We need variety. Even weight lifters dont work the same areas of their body everyday. They alternate. Tell Mrs. Heman you need to go to Hawaii a couple:cool: of weeks a year

Just remembered that Tony (mistersqueegee) posted a video (2 years ago??) in which he showed using tennis racket handle wrapping on his squeegee and scrubber handles. The wrapping adds some cushion and gripping while increasing the outside diameter of the tool handle. Hmmm…

<O:pBelieve that the handle should be redesigned so to make it to hold it in more natural way.

Once you do that the rest follows.</SPAN>

For some reason whenever HE MAN posts something no text shows up on my WCR App. Anyone else have this issue?

Same here. It might be how he posts videos.
