Looking at my first job removing paint overspray on a storefront - about 40 plates worth. Other than scraping, which I’d rather not do, is their a product that you’d recommend trying? When I looked at the job, I wet the glass and tried buffing a small spot with 0000 Steel Wool and it was pretty ineffective. Suggestions?
Thanks
P.S. I have read enough on here about FD to know I need to get a waiver!
I know there are many chemicals out there that loosen and remove paint over spray. Some of them can be pretty destructive on sills and seals, so choose accordingly.
Maybe try some Bioclean and your steel wool (or white scrubby pad if it were me). It may provide just enough “grittyness” to remove the paint.
Now if your talking major over spray, covering most of the windows, I would definitely scrape. I always used triumph scrapers.
Home Depot has a spray on paint remover I used just last week that worked great. Ask a tech at Home Depot what you can use and they will tell ya. Wear gloves and a mask when using it though.
Thanks. The overspray is pretty consistent over all the upper windows, so it will be a whole lot of scraping. I will just have to take my time and make sure my technique stays true to form. It amazes me these painters got away with being so sloppy.
