Looking at the Topic Categories its been since 16’ since this topic has been brought up. Times/Technology change fast. What are you doing for Credit Card payment out in the field? Initial cost? Cost Per transaction? Thanks in advance.
I keep it simple myself. I use the PayPal Here app. you just manually enter the pertinent info.
so many options below 3% cost is irrelevant. i use the customer factor but we told customers this year we no longer want payment to the crew. visa mc amex online or phone. etrans. 5% discount for prepayment which is around half of sales.
We used Square for many many years. Switched over to Stripe this year and we take payments through ServiceMonster.
We use Jobber, which uses stripe to process payments. Invoice online, deposits quickly and like most it’s under 3%/transaction
We use square because it’s a house hold name and clients fell comfortable using it . They charge 3-4% , it’s a lot but we only do about 2 transactions per month . Don’t be too worry about the cost unless you’re doing thousands of dollars per month
Charge customers for it by telling them you don’t charge a processing fee but secretly raise prices and you are not losing any money. Look at accepting cards as a reason to raise prices just as if gas, tools, wages etc go up
if you are doing thousands of dollars pe month the cost is even more irrelevant
over 12k in rev on cards last month cost $374 .customer can enter their card right from the invoice which is automatically marked paid and money deposited weekly (my preference) SO WORTHWHILE crew does not have to wait around for payment.
So if another similar vendor was to offer you a 1% saving you won’t take it ? 1,440 yearly saving
by one percent saving do you mean 33% as in 2% instead of 3?
if that were the case i could see moving iff it really was the same. although customer factor was offering a discount with square but i stuck with stripe. i am familiar with their system and it works well for us.
