What do you guys think, I used to take credit cards during my second year in business. I used a knuckle buster and kept the receipts and ran the transactions when i got home. It wasn’t worth it because of all the fees that I was paying and the minimums, add to that when a transaction was declined or a hold would be put on them and at the end it would sometimes take a week or more to get the money.
I use paypal now with some of my customers, I send them an invoice and they pay online. Cool thing is that paypal waves the fee in most of my transactions, it takes about 3-5 days to get the money but its convenient for my customers and I dont have to worry about minimums.
I think that this new paypal thing can be a good payment addition, what about you guys?
I had never heard of square until I read the PP article and I am not aware of any freeze outs with PP. I asked my cousin who used to sell credit card terminals and he was telling me that square is the way to go for small businesses but that the fees can be up to 3.5% + $0.15 transaction fee. He’s doesnt know about PP Here.
I like that square pays the next business day thats really convenient, thanks guys for letting me know about this service. I will be looking into adding one of these two services to my business.
I have only been using square for 3 weeks now. I switched from Intuit Gopayment because it was taking 2-3 days for them to deposit money into my account. I have used it 8 times now with square and no problem what so ever. I used gopayment all last year with no problem. Likw I said I switched because of the turn around time with square. other than that, they are both the same.
Found this other article related to PP Here. It looks like square is the way to go, thanks for the feedback guys. I opened the account with square and it only took a few minutes to set it up.
I just got set up with Sam’s Club and haven’t got much use yet, but it looks pretty good. after a $35/month lease fee (until it’s owned) on the wireless terminal, it’s just 1.5% + like .20/trans and I don’t think debit cards have any % at all. it will also verify checks and guarantee payment on them if they bounce after being approved. also comes with the upgraded Sam’s Club membership with no membership fees at all. they even gave me $100 of trans credit when signing up. the terminal is really slick too. has anyone else used their service?
