What do the peak months tend to be? I’m in Michigan for reference.
In Oklahoma, my peak months are April, May, June, October, November, and December. With my best months being October and May.

Mine used to be March through June and October through December, but 2013 is proving to be slammed all the way through.
Me too.
Last year March saw 85 plus temps, so we rocked early, but…
Typically the phones to ring in late April- November with a big dip in Sept.
Texas Here: February, March, May, October,Nov,Dec are my busiest times of the year. We kick butt the other months too, just not as much as the ones listed.
The summer months are lower revenue by choice; the temperature gets brutal about 2pm so I try to have everyone back in the office by then.
February over April??
May / June / November ( New Jersey )
Where in mich?
Yeah…I was just looking at why and its because of all the gutter cleanings. (Im using gross revenue to determine “PEAK” months, not number of units serviced.)
We get a pretty massive oak pollen bloom in April that turns everything yellow. Nobody likes to get their windows cleaned until May when its all over. The good news is gutters fill and overflow in a matter of days so its a nice boost to gutter cleaning service.
Hi Bill. I’m in Grand Rapids with you.
It’s kind of like that here too, but April still outperforms February
What the me of your co. On Grand Rapids Mi?
I have significant turnover in March and April. Its the 30-60 day mark for new hires and they start dropping like flies. Voluntary and Involuntary.
Past years I didn’t have a lot of help to begin with and to lose an assistant or two is disastrous. But, going into April I’ve always been short staffed. (This April 2013 I had low staff AND was down a truck) . I started hiring in 2’s this year. Every 2 batches I get 1 keeper.
Thanks for making me think about it Larry. I’ve always known (i was short staffed this time of year) but never consciously applied the business intelligence to solving my April problem of untrained/understaffed teams. This is intelligence I can actually use and prevent April 2014 from sucking. I need to start hiring in 6 packs.
